Summary: Pull Request resolved: https://github.com/facebook/rocksdb/pull/15396 ## Summary `ParseEntry()` exposes the components of an internal key, but constructing one with a chosen sequence number and entry type currently requires private RocksDB utilities or duplicating the encoding. Add public `EncodeEntry()` to construct a stored internal key from `ParsedEntryInfo`, including its user key, timestamp, sequence number, and entry type. Also expose `PackSequenceAndType()` and `UnPackSequenceAndType()` to work with the sequence/type footer as a `uint64_t`. The helpers map all nine representable public entry types to their internal types and use the existing footer encoding; `EncodeEntry()` reuses the public packer. Packing `kEntryOther` or a sequence number above the 56-bit limit returns `InvalidArgument` without changing the output. Unpacking reports internal value types without a public equivalent as `kEntryOther`. Timestamp size remains the caller's responsibility, and input slices must not alias the output string. These are additive C++ utilities using the existing internal-key format. RocksDB: A Persistent Key-Value Store for Flash and RAM Storage
RocksDB is developed and maintained by Facebook Database Engineering Team. It is built on earlier work on LevelDB by Sanjay Ghemawat (sanjay@google.com) and Jeff Dean (jeff@google.com)
This code is a library that forms the core building block for a fast key-value server, especially suited for storing data on flash drives. It has a Log-Structured-Merge-Database (LSM) design with flexible tradeoffs between Write-Amplification-Factor (WAF), Read-Amplification-Factor (RAF) and Space-Amplification-Factor (SAF). It has multi-threaded compactions, making it especially suitable for storing multiple terabytes of data in a single database.

See the github wiki for more explanation.
The public interface is in include/. Callers should not include or
rely on the details of any other header files in this package. Those
internal APIs may be changed without warning.
