Michael Brown 719a85cfcc [build] Switch default build architecture to x86_64
Support for 32-bit i386 is gradually fading away across the ecosystem.
It is reasonably common to encounter devices with 64-bit MMIO BARs in
systems that place these BARs above the 32-bit address space. These
devices cannot be used by a 32-bit build of iPXE.

The default binaries published in both the rolling release and the
tagged releases are already x86_64 rather than i386. The only
remaining trace of the 32-bit default is the unadorned "bin/" build
directory prefix, which is currently interpreted as being equivalent
to "bin-i386-pcbios/".

Switch the default build architecture from i386 to x86_64.

iPXE network bootloader

Build Coverity Release

iPXE is the leading open source network boot firmware. It provides a full PXE implementation enhanced with additional features such as:

  • boot from a web server via HTTP or HTTPS,

  • boot from an iSCSI, FCoE, or AoE SAN,

  • control the boot process with a script,

  • create interactive forms and menus.

You can use iPXE to replace the existing PXE ROM on your network card, or you can chainload into iPXE to obtain the features of iPXE without the hassle of reflashing.

iPXE is free, open-source software licensed under the GNU GPL (with some portions under GPL-compatible licences).

You can download the rolling release binaries (built from the latest commit), or use the most recent stable release.

For full documentation, visit the iPXE website.
