* Refactor getPickleKey so that it can throw

* Review feedback

* Clarification on why errors are just logged

* Tests for pickling utils

* Revert Service Worker behaviour for pickle key not set

Make it the caller's responsibility to handle edge cases sensibly.

* Rest of merge

* Additional test coverage
