Summary: Pull Request resolved: https://github.com/facebook/rocksdb/pull/15106 When `optimize_manifest_for_recovery` is enabled, `MaybeUpdateNextFileNumber` uses on-disk files to decide whether recovery must append a `SetNextFile` edit. `OPTIONS-*` and temp options files are written as sidecar option snapshots during open, after recovery, so their presence alone should not force MANIFEST growth on a later clean reopen. Exclude `kOptionsFile` and `kTempFile` from the trigger that requires a MANIFEST file-number advance. If any real file requires an advance, the code still advances past the largest observed file number, including OPTIONS files. Also tighten db_stress strict MANIFEST verification so fatal zero-growth checks only run when all fault injection is disabled. Open write/sync fault injection can legitimately make `reuse_manifest_on_open` fall back to a fresh MANIFEST. RocksDB: A Persistent Key-Value Store for Flash and RAM Storage
RocksDB is developed and maintained by Facebook Database Engineering Team. It is built on earlier work on LevelDB by Sanjay Ghemawat (sanjay@google.com) and Jeff Dean (jeff@google.com)
This code is a library that forms the core building block for a fast key-value server, especially suited for storing data on flash drives. It has a Log-Structured-Merge-Database (LSM) design with flexible tradeoffs between Write-Amplification-Factor (WAF), Read-Amplification-Factor (RAF) and Space-Amplification-Factor (SAF). It has multi-threaded compactions, making it especially suitable for storing multiple terabytes of data in a single database.
