asf_o is a second, non-default implementation of the ASF demuxer next
to asfdec_f.c. Security issues keep being reported against it, so it
is a maintenance burden without a benefit over the default demuxer.

A directory listing that blocks in a protocol could not be
interrupted; avio_open_dir2() passes an interrupt callback to the
protocol like avio_open2() does.

Like the fd protocol, but takes a raw Windows HANDLE instead of a CRT file descriptor.
On Windows, CRT file descriptors cannot be reliably passed to child processes, so
HANDLEs need to be used instead.

Add single-image ASTC and KTX 1.0 muxers and demuxers for the
libastcenc codec. Validate the KTX layout, ASTC dimensions, color profile,
and compressed payload boundaries before exposing a packet to the decoder.
Map the KTX 1.0 2D linear and sRGB ASTC formats to the corresponding
libastcenc profiles, and reject unsupported HDR, 3D, array, cubemap, and
mipmap layouts instead of producing ambiguous image streams.
The KTX demuxer turns the KTXorientation key into display metadata, and the
KTX muxer writes the key back, so a stream copied from a flipped texture
keeps its row order. Its srgb option follows the encoder's color profile by
default, and an explicit value that contradicts a known profile is rejected
instead of silently relabelling the texture.

A COMM frame carries both a language and a short content descriptor, so its
only unambiguous metadata key is "comment-<descriptor>-<lang>", while the
extra export of the bare descriptor as a key silently overrides a real tag
whenever the descriptor matches a known tag name such as "album".
Restrict that legacy export to the container-level ID3v2 tag of callers that
ask for it through the new AVFMT_FLAG_LEGACY_ID3V2_COMM_KEYS flag (-fflags
+legacy_id3v2_comm_keys), which is deprecated along with
FF_API_OLD_ID3V2_COMMENT and only exists to give those callers a transition
path.
This is a generic recursion limit that is not specific to a demuxer
it does change public API which makes this unsuitable for backporting

The format stores video-only H.264 in a fixed header + index table +
chunk layout. Each chunk is a self-contained GOP, enabling simple
random access via the index.
Fix#23540
Add a muxer that wraps encoded image in the iTerm2 inline image protocol
(OSC 1337) so ffmpeg can play video directly in an iTerm2 terminal. The
output is a self-contained byte stream: it can be played live or saved
to a file and replayed with cat.
You may look and think `AVFMT_FLAG_CUSTOM_IO` check is enough, but this
is not what it seems. This flag means that user provided custom
AVIOContext, before creating AVFormatContext and it should not be
closed. However nested sub-demuxers may still open an temporary io, and
those have to be closed and use correct io_close2 function.
You can see 0dcac9c3f0 and
ef01061225 where this flag is cleared for
nested opens to avoid leaking those.
lavf micro version bumped so API users can know if it is safe to use
custom io.

av_program_add_stream_index() added in 526efa1053
may fail to carry out its purpose but the lack of
a return value stops callers from catching any error.

Add support for decoding 42ni and 23ni in mov/mp4.
Note that in24/in32 can be either LE or BE thanks to enda atom,
so this patch leaves the muxer unchanged.

Some tools like v4l2-ctl dump data without skip padding. If the
padding size is not an integer multiple of the number of pixel
bytes, we cannot handle it by using a larger width, e.g.,, for
RGB24 image with 32 bytes padding in each line.
Add a public API for producing RFC 4281/6381 codecs trings for
MIME types.
This can be required for providing alternative video files to
a web browser, letting the browser pick the best file it supports.
Such strings also allow querying a browser whether it supports
a certain codec combination.
Finally, if implementing a DASH/HLS segmenter outside of libavformat,
one also has to generate such strings.
Generating such strings for H264/AAC is very simple, but for
more modern codecs, it can require a lot of nontrivial codec
specific parsing of extradata.
As libavformat already implements this, expose it for users as well.
The old, internal function ff_make_codec_str is kept and used by
the HLS and DASH muxers; the old function takes a logging context
which can be used for logging auxillary info about how the string
generation worked out.
This is an extension to WAVEFORMATEX used for some AAC streams, defined in the
Windows SDK.

If the information is coded at the container level, then that's what should be
exported. The user will still have access to values coded at the bitstream
level by firing a decoder.

Attempts to base the fragmentation timing on other streams
as most receivers expect media fragments to be more or less
aligned.
Currently does not support fragmentation on subtitle track
only, as the subtitle packet queue timings would have to be
checked in addition to the current fragmentation timing logic.
