ebef58d301 OID + misc crypto: use MD_CAN and fix failures
After this, only PK, X.509 and TLS remain to be done.

Deterministic uses HMAC-DRBG which uses MD, so it needs crypto_init()
when using a driver-only hash.

Also, remove a special-purpose macro that's no longer needed.

1fdb8e8c17 Add unit tests for ECDSA with invalid public key
Add tests for a case in ECDSA signing where an invalid public
key is accepted in signature verification.

Test data taken from the OSS-fuzz issue, and additional
generated with python-ecdsa.

5ea65173fb Rm useless use of MD in ECDSA test functions
We had a message in the data file, and were computing its hash in the
test function. It is more efficient (and simpler when it comes to
dependencies) to directly have the message hash in the data file.

It was probably this way because some test vectors provide the message
for the sake of all-in-one implementation that hash-and-sign at once.
But our API gets a hash as the input and signs it. In unit tests, this
should be reflected in the signature of the test function, which should
take a hash as input.

The changes to the .data file were done using the following python
script:

import hashlib

suite = 'ecdsa'

functions = {
        'ecdsa_det_test_vectors': (3, 4),
        'ecdsa_write_restart': (3, 4),
}

def hash_ctx(s):
    if s == 'MBEDTLS_MD_MD5':
        return hashlib.md5()
    if s == 'MBEDTLS_MD_SHA1':
        return hashlib.sha1()
    if s == 'MBEDTLS_MD_SHA224':
        return hashlib.sha224()
    if s == 'MBEDTLS_MD_SHA256':
        return hashlib.sha256()
    if s == 'MBEDTLS_MD_SHA384':
        return hashlib.sha384()
    if s == 'MBEDTLS_MD_SHA512':
        return hashlib.sha512()

def fix(l):
    parts = l.rstrip().split(":")

    fun = parts[0]
    if fun not in functions:
        return l

    (alg_idx, msg_idx) = functions[fun]

    alg_str = parts[alg_idx]
    if alg_str == "MBEDTLS_MD_NONE":
        return l
    h = hash_ctx(alg_str)

    msg_str = parts[msg_idx][1:-1]
    h.update(msg_str.encode('ascii'))
    msg_hash = h.hexdigest()
    msg_hash_str = '"' + msg_hash.upper() + '"'

    parts[msg_idx] = msg_hash_str
    return ":".join(parts) + '\n'

filename = 'tests/suites/test_suite_' + suite + '.data'
with open(filename) as f:
    lines = f.readlines()

lines = [fix(l) for l in lines]

with open(filename, 'w') as f:
    f.writelines(lines)

3352a53475 Modify config option for SHA384.
Although SHA512 is currently required to enable SHA384, this
is expected to change in the future. This commit is an
intermediate step towards fully separating SHA384 and SHA512.

check_config is the only module which enforces that SHA512 is
enabled together with SHA384.

efa2ac879d Uniquify test case descriptions
Make check-test-cases.py pass.

Prior to this commit, there were many repeated test descriptions, but
none with the same test data and dependencies and comments, as checked
with the following command:

    for x in tests/suites/*.data; do perl -00 -ne 'warn "$ARGV: $. = $seen{$_}\n" if $seen{$_}; $seen{$_}=$.' $x; done

Wherever a test suite contains multiple test cases with the exact same
description, add " [#1]", " [#2]", etc. to make the descriptions
unique. We don't currently use this particular arrangement of
punctuation, so all occurrences of " [#" were added by this script.

I used the following ad hoc code:

import sys

def fix_test_suite(data_file_name):
    in_paragraph = False
    total = {}
    index = {}
    lines = None
    with open(data_file_name) as data_file:
        lines = list(data_file.readlines())
        for line in lines:
            if line == '\n':
                in_paragraph = False
                continue
            if line.startswith('#'):
                continue
            if not in_paragraph:
                # This is a test case description line.
                total[line] = total.get(line, 0) + 1
                index[line] = 0
            in_paragraph = True
    with open(data_file_name, 'w') as data_file:
        for line in lines:
            if line in total and total[line] > 1:
                index[line] += 1
                line = '%s [#%d]\n' % (line[:-1], index[line])
            data_file.write(line)

eb402f3cd3 Add test for restartable signature
Test relies on deterministic signature as this uses plain sig internally, so
if deterministic works, then so does non-deterministic, while the reciprocal
is false. (Also, deterministic is enabled by default in config.h.)

Test case is taken from a RFC 6979 test vector, just manually converting (r,s)
to the encoded signature.
