msys2-clang64 noticed that the `spacing` variable was written to but
never read from. Indeed, this option has been a no-op since I
accidentally/deliberately broke it in commit
98e6ac788e.
Drop it, because nobody has complained about it breaking since 2022, and
I’m not sure about what the use case for it originally was meant to be.
