- Adding Type_handler::traditional_merge_field_type()
- Removing real_type_to_type(), field_merge_type()
- Making Type_handler_var_string to merge as VARCHAR
- Additionally, fixing Field_string::print() to add the "/*old*/"
comment into the data type for the old VARCHAR.
This is similar to what MDEV-8267 earlier did for old DECIMAL.
- Adding tests
jemalloc > 5.0.0 doesn't like to be linked with
a dlopen-ed module.
Don't link tokudb with jemalloc on Fedora 28,
LD_PRELOAD it instead with mysqld_safe
and with systemd.
The logic and the implementation scheme are similar with the
MDEV-9197 Pushdown conditions into non-mergeable views/derived tables
How the push down is made on the example:
select * from t1
where a>3 and b>10 and
(a,b) in (select x,max(y) from t2 group by x);

The implementation scheme:
1. Search for the condition cond that depends only on the fields
from the left part of the IN subquery (left_part)
2. Find fields F_group in the select of the right part of the
IN subquery (right_part) that are used in the GROUP BY
3. Extract from the cond condition cond_where that depends only on the
fields from the left_part that stay at the same places in the left_part
(have the same indexes) as the F_group fields in the projection of the
right_part
4. Transform cond_where so it can be pushed into the WHERE clause of the
right_part and delete cond_where from the cond
5. Transform cond so it can be pushed into the HAVING clause of the right_part
The optimization is made in the
Item_in_subselect::pushdown_cond_for_in_subquery() and is controlled by the
variable condition_pushdown_for_subquery.
New test file in_subq_cond_pushdown.test is created.
There are also some changes made for setup_jtbm_semi_joins().
Now it is decomposed into the 2 procedures: setup_degenerate_jtbm_semi_joins()
that is called before optimize_cond() for cond and setup_jtbm_semi_joins()
that is called after optimize_cond().
New setup_jtbm_semi_joins() is made in the way so that the result of its work is
the same as if it was called before optimize_cond().
The code that is common for pushdown into materialized derived and into materialized
IN subqueries is factored out into pushdown_cond_for_derived(),
Item_in_subselect::pushdown_cond_for_in_subquery() and
st_select_lex::pushdown_cond_into_where_clause().
Introduced new alter algorithm type called NOCOPY & INSTANT for
inplace alter operation.
NOCOPY - Algorithm refuses any alter operation that would
rebuild the clustered index. It is a subset of INPLACE algorithm.
INSTANT - Algorithm allow any alter operation that would
modify only meta data. It is a subset of NOCOPY algorithm.
Introduce new variable called alter_algorithm. The values are
DEFAULT(0), COPY(1), INPLACE(2), NOCOPY(3), INSTANT(4)
Message to deprecate old_alter_table variable and make it alias
for alter_algorithm variable.
alter_algorithm variable for slave is always set to default.
Added --skip-test-db option to mysql_install_db. If specified, no test
database created and relevant grants issued.
Removed --skip-auth-anonymous-user option of mysql_install_db. Now it is
covered by --skip-test-db.
Dropped some Debian patches that did the same.
Removed unused make_win_bin_dist.1, make_win_bin_dist and
mysql_install_db.pl.in.
Main reason was to make it easier to print the above structures in
a debugger. Additional benefits is that I was able to use same
defines for both structures, which simplifes some code.

- DROP CHECK CONSTRAINT can now be done online
- Added checks for Aria tables in alter_table_online.test
- alter_table_flags now takes an ulonglong as argument.
- Don't support online operations if checksum option is used.
- sql_lex.cc doesn't add ALTER_ADD_INDEX if index is not created
MDEV--15609 engines/funcs.crash_manytables_number crashes with error 24
(too many open files)
MDEV-10286 Adjustment of table_open_cache according to system limits
does not work when open-files-limit option is provided
Fixed by adjusting tc_size downwards if there is not enough file
descriptors to use.
Other changes:
- Ensure that there is 30 (was 10) extra file descriptors for other usage
- Decrease TABLE_OPEN_CACHE_MIN to 200 as it's better to have a smaller
table cache than getting error 24
- Increase minimum of max_connections and table_open_cache from 1 to 10
as 1 is not usable for any real application, only for testing.
- Galera tests that was not updated with connection change
messages
- Test where out of memory error was changed (We are now using the
standard out of memory error in most places)
- Removed tokudb tests that uses include files that doesn't exist
in MariaDB
- Removed not supported mariadb startup option from option file
- Galera tests that was not updated with connection change
messages
- Disabled some TokuDB tests that always timed out.
These should be enabled again when we have an option to
specicy timeouts per tests.
