5fe9b4a7ae MDEV-14648 Restore fix for MySQL BUG#39053 - UNINSTALL PLUGIN does not allow the storage engine to cleanup open connections
Also, allow the MariaDB 10.2 server to link InnoDB dynamically
against ha_innodb.so (which is what mysql-test-run.pl expects
to exist, instead of the default name ha_innobase.so).

wsrep_load_data_split(): Instead of referring to innodb_hton_ptr,
check the handlerton::db_type. This was recently broken by me in
MDEV-11415.

innodb_lock_schedule_algorithm: Define as a weak global symbol,
so that WITH_WSREP will not depend on InnoDB being linked statically.
I tested this manually. Notably, running a test that only does
	SET GLOBAL wsrep_on=1;
with a static or dynamic InnoDB and
	./mtr --mysqld=--loose-innodb-lock-schedule-algorithm=fcfs
will crash with SIGSEGV at shutdown. With the default VATS
combination the wsrep_on is properly refused for both the
static and dynamic InnoDB.

ha_close_connection(): Do invoke the method also for plugins
for which UNINSTALL PLUGIN was deferred due to open connections.
Thanks to @svoj for pointing this out.

thd_to_trx(): Return a pointer, not a reference to a pointer.

check_trx_exists(): Invoke thd_set_ha_data() for assigning a transaction.

log_write_checkpoint_info(): Remove an unused DEBUG_SYNC point
that would cause an assertion failure on shutdown after deferred
UNINSTALL PLUGIN.

This was tested as follows:

cmake -DWITH_WSREP=1 -DPLUGIN_INNOBASE:STRING=DYNAMIC \
-DWITH_MARIABACKUP:BOOL=OFF ...
make
cd mysql-test
./mtr innodb.innodb_uninstall

0ba6aaf030 MDEV-11415 Remove excessive undo logging during ALTER TABLE…ALGORITHM=COPY
If a crash occurs during ALTER TABLE…ALGORITHM=COPY, InnoDB would spend
a lot of time rolling back writes to the intermediate copy of the table.
To reduce the amount of busy work done, a work-around was introduced in
commit fd069e2bb3 in MySQL 4.1.8 and 5.0.2,
to commit the transaction after every 10,000 inserted rows.

A proper fix would have been to disable the undo logging altogether and
to simply drop the intermediate copy of the table on subsequent server
startup. This is what happens in MariaDB 10.3 with MDEV-14717,MDEV-14585.
In MariaDB 10.2, the intermediate copy of the table would be left behind
with a name starting with the string #sql.

This is a backport of a bug fix from MySQL 8.0.0 to MariaDB,
contributed by jixianliang <271365745@qq.com>.

Unlike recent MySQL, MariaDB supports ALTER IGNORE. For that operation
InnoDB must for now keep the undo logging enabled, so that the latest
row can be rolled back in case of an error.

In Galera cluster, the LOAD DATA statement will retain the existing
behaviour and commit the transaction after every 10,000 rows if
the parameter wsrep_load_data_splitting=ON is set. The logic to do
so (the wsrep_load_data_split() function and the call
handler::extra(HA_EXTRA_FAKE_START_STMT)) are joint work
by Ji Xianliang and Marko Mäkelä.

The original fix:

Author: Thirunarayanan Balathandayuthapani <thirunarayanan.balathandayuth@oracle.com>
Date:   Wed Dec 2 16:09:15 2015 +0530

Bug#17479594 AVOID INTERMEDIATE COMMIT WHILE DOING ALTER TABLE ALGORITHM=COPY

Problem:

During ALTER TABLE, we commit and restart the transaction for every
10,000 rows, so that the rollback after recovery would not take so long.

Fix:

Suppress the undo logging during copy alter operation. If fts_index is
present then insert directly into fts auxiliary table rather
than doing at commit time.

ha_innobase::num_write_row: Remove the variable.

ha_innobase::write_row(): Remove the hack for committing every 10000 rows.

row_lock_table_for_mysql(): Remove the extra 2 parameters.

lock_get_src_table(), lock_is_table_exclusive(): Remove.

36e81a23c5 MDEV-11937: InnoDB flushes redo log too often
Problem was introduced with the InnoDB 5.7 merge, the code related to
avoiding extra fsync at the end of commit when binlog is enabled. The
MariaDB method for this was removed, but the replacement MySQL method
based on thd_get_durability_property() is not functional in MariaDB.

This commit reverts the offending parts of the merge and adds a test
case, to fix the problem for InnoDB. But other storage engines are
likely to have a similar problem.

e5980bf1b1 Remove the unnecessary method handlerton::release_temporary_latches()
The sole purpose of handlerton::release_temporary_latches and its wrapper
function was to release the InnoDB adaptive hash index latch
(btr_search_latch).

When the btr_search_latch was split into an array of latches
in MySQL 5.7.8 as part of the Oracle Bug#20985298 fix, the "caching"
of the latch across storage engine API calls was removed. As part of that,
the function trx_search_latch_release_if_reserved() was changed to an
assertion and the function trx_reserve_search_latch_if_not_reserved()
was removed, and handlerton::release_temporary_latches() practically
became a no-op.

Note: MDEV-12121 replaced the function
trx_search_latch_release_if_reserved()
with the more appropriately named macro trx_assert_no_search_latch().

14fe6dd239 Bug #23046302 COUNT(*) MUCH SLOWER ON 5.7 THAN 5.6
ANALYSIS

This is regression caused due to worklog 6742 which
implemented ha_innobase::records() which always
uses clustered index to get the row count. Previously
optimizer chose secondary index which was smaller in
size of clustered index to scan for rows and resulted in
a quicker scan.

FIX

After discussion it was decided to remove this feature in 5.7.

5a759d31f7 Changing field::field_name and Item::name to LEX_CSTRING
Benefits of this patch:
- Removed a lot of calls to strlen(), especially for field_string
- Strings generated by parser are now const strings, less chance of
  accidently changing a string
- Removed a lot of calls with LEX_STRING as parameter (changed to pointer)
- More uniform code
- Item::name_length was not kept up to date. Now fixed
- Several bugs found and fixed (Access to null pointers,
  access of freed memory, wrong arguments to printf like functions)
- Removed a lot of casts from (const char*) to (char*)

Changes:
- This caused some ABI changes
  - lex_string_set now uses LEX_CSTRING
  - Some fucntions are now taking const char* instead of char*
- Create_field::change and after changed to LEX_CSTRING
- handler::connect_string, comment and engine_name() changed to LEX_CSTRING
- Checked printf() related calls to find bugs. Found and fixed several
  errors in old code.
- A lot of changes from LEX_STRING to LEX_CSTRING, especially related to
  parsing and events.
- Some changes from LEX_STRING and LEX_STRING & to LEX_CSTRING*
- Some changes for char* to const char*
- Added printf argument checking for my_snprintf()
- Introduced null_clex_str, star_clex_string, temp_lex_str to simplify
  code
- Added item_empty_name and item_used_name to be able to distingush between
  items that was given an empty name and items that was not given a name
  This is used in sql_yacc.yy to know when to give an item a name.
- select table_name."*' is not anymore same as table_name.*
- removed not used function Item::rename()
- Added comparision of item->name_length before some calls to
  my_strcasecmp() to speed up comparison
- Moved Item_sp_variable::make_field() from item.h to item.cc
- Some minimal code changes to avoid copying to const char *
- Fixed wrong error message in wsrep_mysql_parse()
- Fixed wrong code in find_field_in_natural_join() where real_item() was
  set when it shouldn't
- ER_ERROR_ON_RENAME was used with extra arguments.
- Removed some (wrong) ER_OUTOFMEMORY, as alloc_root will already
  give the error.

TODO:
- Check possible unsafe casts in plugin/auth_examples/qa_auth_interface.c
- Change code to not modify LEX_CSTRING for database name
  (as part of lower_case_table_names)

a05a610d60 Added "const" to new data for handler::update_row()
This was done to make it clear that a update_row() should not change the
row.
This was not done for handler::write_row() as this function still needs
to update auto_increment values in the row. This should at some point
be moved to handler::ha_write_row() after which write_row can also have
const arguments.

7cf97ed4ee MDEV-11816 Disallow CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE…ROW_FORMAT=COMPRESSED
MySQL 5.7 allows temporary tables to be created in ROW_FORMAT=COMPRESSED.
The usefulness of this is questionable. WL#7899 in MySQL 8.0.0
prevents the creation of such compressed tables, so that all InnoDB
temporary tables will be located inside the predefined
InnoDB temporary tablespace.

Pick up and adjust some tests from MySQL 5.7 and 8.0.

dict_tf_to_fsp_flags(): Remove the parameter is_temp.
fsp_flags_init(): Remove the parameter is_temporary.

row_mysql_drop_temp_tables(): Remove. There cannot be any temporary
tables in InnoDB. (This never removed #sql* tables in the datadir
which were created by DDL.)

dict_table_t::dir_path_of_temp_table: Remove.

create_table_info_t::m_temp_path: Remove.

create_table_info_t::create_options_are_invalid(): Do not allow
ROW_FORMAT=COMPRESSED or KEY_BLOCK_SIZE for temporary tables.

create_table_info_t::innobase_table_flags(): Do not unnecessarily
prevent CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE with SPATIAL INDEX.
(MySQL 5.7 does allow this.)

fil_space_belongs_in_lru(): The only FIL_TYPE_TEMPORARY tablespace
is never subjected to closing least-recently-used files.

1eabad5dbe Remove MYSQL_COMPRESSION.
The MariaDB 10.1 page_compression is incompatible with the Oracle
implementation that was introduced in MySQL 5.7 later.

Remove the Oracle implementation. Also remove the remaining traces of
MYSQL_ENCRYPTION.

This will also remove traces of PUNCH_HOLE until it is implemented
better. The only effective call to os_file_punch_hole() was in
fil_node_create_low() to test if the operation is supported for the file.

In other words, it looks like page_compression is not working in
MariaDB 10.2, because no code equivalent to the 10.1 os_file_trim()
is enabled.

8777458a6e MDEV-6076 Persistent AUTO_INCREMENT for InnoDB
This should be functionally equivalent to WL#6204 in MySQL 8.0.0, with
the notable difference that the file format changes are limited to
repurposing a previously unused data field in B-tree pages.

For persistent InnoDB tables, write the last used AUTO_INCREMENT
value to the root page of the clustered index, in the previously
unused (0) PAGE_MAX_TRX_ID field, now aliased as PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC.
Unlike some other previously unused InnoDB data fields, this one was
actually always zero-initialized, at least since MySQL 3.23.49.

The writes to PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC are protected by SX or X latch on the
root page. The SX latch will allow concurrent read access to the root
page. (The field PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC will only be read on the
first-time call to ha_innobase::open() from the SQL layer. The
PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC can only be updated when executing SQL, so
read/write races are not possible.)

During INSERT, the PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC is updated by the low-level
function btr_cur_search_to_nth_level(), adding no extra page
access. [Adaptive hash index lookup will be disabled during INSERT.]

If some rare UPDATE modifies an AUTO_INCREMENT column, the
PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC will be adjusted in a separate mini-transaction in
ha_innobase::update_row().

When a page is reorganized, we have to preserve the PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC
field.

During ALTER TABLE, the initial AUTO_INCREMENT value will be copied
from the table. ALGORITHM=COPY and online log apply in LOCK=NONE will
update PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC in real time.

innodb_col_no(): Determine the dict_table_t::cols[] element index
corresponding to a Field of a non-virtual column.
(The MySQL 5.7 implementation of virtual columns breaks the 1:1
relationship between Field::field_index and dict_table_t::cols[].
Virtual columns are omitted from dict_table_t::cols[]. Therefore,
we must translate the field_index of AUTO_INCREMENT columns into
an index of dict_table_t::cols[].)

Upgrade from old data files:

By default, the AUTO_INCREMENT sequence in old data files would appear
to be reset, because PAGE_MAX_TRX_ID or PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC would contain
the value 0 in each clustered index page. In new data files,
PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC can only be 0 if the table is empty or does not contain
any AUTO_INCREMENT column.

For backward compatibility, we use the old method of
SELECT MAX(auto_increment_column) for initializing the sequence.

btr_read_autoinc(): Read the AUTO_INCREMENT sequence from a new-format
data file.

btr_read_autoinc_with_fallback(): A variant of btr_read_autoinc()
that will resort to reading MAX(auto_increment_column) for data files
that did not use AUTO_INCREMENT yet. It was manually tested that during
the execution of innodb.autoinc_persist the compatibility logic is
not activated (for new files, PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC is never 0 in nonempty
clustered index root pages).

initialize_auto_increment(): Replaces
ha_innobase::innobase_initialize_autoinc(). This initializes
the AUTO_INCREMENT metadata. Only called from ha_innobase::open().

ha_innobase::info_low(): Do not try to lazily initialize
dict_table_t::autoinc. It must already have been initialized by
ha_innobase::open() or ha_innobase::create().

Note: The adjustments to class ha_innopart were not tested, because
the source code (native InnoDB partitioning) is not being compiled.

c868acdf65 MDEV-11487 Revert InnoDB internal temporary tables from WL#7682
WL#7682 in MySQL 5.7 introduced the possibility to create light-weight
temporary tables in InnoDB. These are called 'intrinsic temporary tables'
in InnoDB, and in MySQL 5.7, they can be created by the optimizer for

In MariaDB 10.2, the optimizer temporary tables cannot be created in
InnoDB, so we should remove the dead code and related data structures.

d665e79c5b MDEV-7660 - MySQL WL#6671 "Improve scalability by not using thr_lock.c locks
for InnoDB tables"

Don't use thr_lock.c locks for InnoDB tables. Below is list of changes that
were needed to implement this:
- HANDLER OPEN acquireis MDL_SHARED_READ instead of MDL_SHARED
- HANDLER READ calls external_lock() even if SE is not going to be locked by
  THR_LOCK
- InnoDB lock wait timeouts are now honored which are much shorter by default
  than server lock wait timeouts (1 year vs 50 seconds)
- with @@autocommit= 1 LOCK TABLES disables autocommit implicitely, though
  user still sees @@autocommt= 1
- the above starts implicit transaction
- transactions started by LOCK TABLES are now rolled back on disconnect
  (previously everything was committed due to autocommit)
- transactions started by LOCK TABLES are now rolled back by ROLLBACK
  (previously everything was committed due to autocommit)
- it is now impossible to change BINLOG_FORMAT under LOCK TABLES (at least
  to statement) due to running transaction
- LOCK TABLES WRITE is additionally handled by MDL
- ...in contrast LOCK TABLES READ protection against DML is pure InnoDB
- combining transactional and non-transactional tables under LOCK TABLES
  may cause rolled back changes in transactional table and "committed"
  changes in non-transactional table
- user may disable innodb_table_locks, which will cause LOCK TABLES to be
  noop basically

Removed tests for BUG#45143 and BUG#55930 which cover InnoDB + THR_LOCK. To
operate properly these tests require code flow to go through THR_LOCK debug
sync points, which is not the case after this patch. These tests are removed
by WL#6671 as well. An alternative is to port them to different storage engine.

MDEV-10547: Test multi_update_innodb fails with InnoDB 5.7

	The failure happened because 5.7 has changed the signature of
	the bool handler::primary_key_is_clustered() const
	virtual function ("const" was added). InnoDB was using the old
	signature which caused the function not to be used.

MDEV-10550: Parallel replication lock waits/deadlock handling does not work with InnoDB 5.7

	Fixed mutexing problem on lock_trx_handle_wait. Note that
	rpl_parallel and rpl_optimistic_parallel tests still
	fail.

MDEV-10156 : Group commit tests fail on 10.2 InnoDB (branch bb-10.2-jan)
  Reason: incorrect merge

MDEV-10550: Parallel replication can't sync with master in InnoDB 5.7 (branch bb-10.2-jan)

628bc576b3 MDEV-9918: [ERROR] mysqld got signal 11 during ALTER TABLE name COLUMN ADD
Problem was that in-place online alter table was used on a table
that had mismatch between MySQL frm file and InnoDB data dictionary.
Fixed so that traditional "Copy" method is used if the MySQL frm
and InnoDB data dictionary is not consistent.
