6bb28e0bc5 Bug#29915479 RUNNING COM_REGISTER_SLAVE WITHOUT COM_BINLOG_DUMP CAN RESULTS IN SERVER EXIT
in fact, in MariaDB it cannot, but it can show spurious slaves
in SHOW SLAVE HOSTS.

slave was registered in COM_REGISTER_SLAVE and un-registered after
COM_BINLOG_DUMP. If there was no COM_BINLOG_DUMP, it would never
unregister.

adefaeffcc MDEV-19536 - Server crash or ASAN heap-use-after-free in is_temporary_table /
read_statistics_for_tables_if_needed

Regression after 279a907, read_statistics_for_tables_if_needed() was
called after open_normal_and_derived_tables() failure.

Fixed by moving read_statistics_for_tables() call to a branch of
get_schema_stat_record() where result of open_normal_and_derived_tables()
is checked.

Removed THD::force_read_stats, added read_statistics_for_tables() instead.
Simplified away statistics_for_command_is_needed().

284c72eacf MDEV-17614 INSERT on dup key update is replication unsafe
Problem:-
When mysql executes INSERT ON DUPLICATE KEY INSERT, the storage engine checks
if the inserted row would generate a duplicate key error. If yes, it returns
the existing row to mysql, mysql updates it and sends it back to the storage
engine.When the table has more than one unique or primary key, this statement
is sensitive to the order in which the storage engines checks the keys.
Depending on this order, the storage engine may determine different rows
to mysql, and hence mysql can update different rows.The order that the
storage engine checks keys is not deterministic. For example, InnoDB checks
keys in an order that depends on the order in which indexes were added to
the table. The first added index is checked first. So if master and slave
have added indexes in different orders, then slave may go out of sync.

Solution:-
Make INSERT...ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE unsafe while using stmt or mixed format
When there is more then one unique key.
Although there is two exception.
  1. Auto Increment key is not counted because Innodb will get gap lock for
    failed Insert and concurrent insert will get a next increment value. But if
    user supplies auto inc value it can be unsafe.
  2. Count only unique keys for which insertion is performed.

So this patch also addresses the bug id #72921

a62e9a83c0 MDEV-15945 --ps-protocol does not test some queries
Make mysqltest to use --ps-protocol more

use prepared statements for everything that server supports
with the exception of CALL (for now).

Fix discovered test failures and bugs.

tests:
* PROCESSLIST shows Execute state, not Query
* SHOW STATUS increments status variables more than in text protocol
* multi-statements should be avoided (see tests with a wrong delimiter)
* performance_schema events have different names in --ps-protocol
* --enable_prepare_warnings

mysqltest.cc:
* make sure run_query_stmt() doesn't crash if there's
  no active connection (in wait_until_connected_again.inc)
* prepare all statements that server supports

protocol.h
* Protocol_discard::send_result_set_metadata() should not send
  anything to the client.

sql_acl.cc:
* extract the functionality of getting the user for SHOW GRANTS
  from check_show_access(), so that mysql_test_show_grants() could
  generate the correct column names in the prepare step

sql_class.cc:
* result->prepare() can fail, don't ignore its return value
* use correct number of decimals for EXPLAIN columns

sql_parse.cc:
* discard profiling for SHOW PROFILE. In text protocol it's done in
  prepare_schema_table(), but in --ps it is called on prepare only,
  so nothing was discarding profiling during execute.
* move the permission checking code for SHOW CREATE VIEW to
  mysqld_show_create_get_fields(), so that it would be called during
  prepare step too.
* only set sel_result when it was created here and needs to be
  destroyed in the same block. Avoid destroying lex->result.
* use the correct number of tables in check_show_access(). Saying
  "as many as possible" doesn't work when first_not_own_table isn't
  set yet.

sql_prepare.cc:
* use correct user name for SHOW GRANTS columns
* don't ignore verbose flag for SHOW SLAVE STATUS
* support preparing REVOKE ALL and ROLLBACK TO SAVEPOINT
* don't ignore errors from thd->prepare_explain_fields()
* use select_send result for sending ANALYZE and EXPLAIN, but don't
  overwrite lex->result, because it might be needed to issue execute-time
  errors (select_dumpvar - too many rows)

sql_show.cc:
* check grants for SHOW CREATE VIEW here, not in mysql_execute_command

sql_view.cc:
* use the correct function to check privileges. Old code was doing
  check_access() for thd->security_ctx, which is invoker's sctx,
  not definer's sctx. Hide various view related errors from the invoker.

sql_yacc.yy:
* initialize lex->select_lex for LOAD, otherwise it'll contain garbage
  data that happen to fail tests with views in --ps (but not otherwise).

f9ac7032cb MDEV-14605 Changes to "ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP" fields are not
always logged properly with binlog_row_image=MINIMAL

There are two issues fixed in this commit.
The first is an observation of a multi-table UPDATE binlogged
in row-format in binlog_row_image=MINIMAL mode. While the UPDATE aims
at a table with an ON-UPDATE attribute its binlog after-image misses
to record also installed default value.
The reason for that turns out missed marking of default-capable fields
in TABLE::write_set.

This is fixed to mark such fields similarly to 10.2's MDEV-10134 patch (db7edfed17efe6)
that introduced it. The marking follows up 93d1e5ce0b841bed's idea
to exploit TABLE:rpl_write_set introduced there though,
and thus does not mess (in 10.1) with the actual MDEV-10134 agenda.
The patch makes formerly arg-less TABLE::mark_default_fields_for_write()
to accept an argument which would be TABLE:rpl_write_set.

The 2nd issue is extra columns in in binlog_row_image=MINIMAL before-image
while merely a packed primary key is enough. The test main.mysqlbinlog_row_minimal
always had a wrong result recorded.
This is fixed to invoke a function that intended for read_set
possible filtering and which is called (supposed to) in all type of MDL, UPDATE
including; the test results have gotten corrected.

At *merging* from 10.1->10.2 the 1st "main" part of the patch is unnecessary
since the bug is not observed in 10.2, so only hunks from

  sql/sql_class.cc

are required.

7d3161def8 MDEV-18225 Avoid use of LOCK_prepared_stmt_count mutex in Statement_map destructo
This mutex can be freed when server shuts down (when thread_count goes down to 0)
, but it is still used inside THD::~THD() when Statement_map is destroyed.

The fix is to call Statement_map::reset() at the point where thread_count
is still positive, and avoid locking LOCK_prepared_stmt_count in THD
destructor.

Here {{handler::print_error}} computes whether to error log the
current error when --log-warnings > 1. The decision flag is consulted
bu {{my_message_sql()}} which can be eventually called.
In the bug case the decision is to log.
However in the optimistic mode slave applier case any conflict is
attempted to resolve with rollback and retry to success. Hence the
logging is at least extraneous.

The case is fixed with adding a new flag {{ME_LOG_AS_WARN}} which
{{handler::print_error}} may propagate further on through {{my_error}}
when the error comes from an optimistically running slave worker thread.

The new flag effectively requests the warning level for the errlog record,
while the thread's DA records the actual error (which is regarded as temporary one
by the parallel slave error handler).

2f0b8f3e02 MDEV-16005 sporadic failures with galera tests MW-328B and MW-328C
These test can sporadically show mutex deadlock warnings between LOCK_wsrep_thd
and LOCK_thd_data mutexes. This means that these mutexes can be locked in opposite
order by different threads, and thus result in deadlock situation.
To fix such issue, the locking policy of these mutexes should be revised and
enforced to be uniform. However, a quick code review shows that the number of
lock/unlock operations for these mutexes combined is between 100-200, and all these
mutex invocations should be checked/fixed.

On the other hand, it turns out that LOCK_wsrep_thd is used for protecting access to
wsrep variables of THD (wsrep_conflict_state, wsrep_query_state), whereas LOCK_thd_data
protects query, db and mysys_var variables in THD. Extending LOCK_thd_data to protect
also wsrep variables looks like a viable solution, as there should not be a use case
where separate threads need simultaneous access to wsrep variables and THD data variables.

In this commit LOCK_wsrep_thd mutex is refactored to be replaced by LOCK_thd_data.
By bluntly replacing LOCK_wsrep_thd by LOCK_thd_data, will result in double locking
of LOCK_thd_data, and some adjustements have been performed to fix such situations.

5017c261d4 Fix test failure on test MW-86 and remove MW-360 test.
Merged from mysql-wsrep-bugs following:

GCF-1058 MTR test galera.MW-86 fails on repeated runs
Wait for the sync point sync.wsrep_apply_cb to be reached before
executing the test and clearing the debug flag sync.wsrep_apply_cb.

The race scenario:

Intended behavior:
node2: set sync.wsrep_apply_cb in order to start waiting in the background INSERT
node1: INSERT start
node2 (background): INSERT start
node1: INSERT end
node2: send signal to background INSERT: "stop waiting and continue executing"
node2: clear sync.wsrep_apply_cb as no longer needed
node2 (background): consume the signal
node2 (background): INSERT end
node2: DROP TABLE
node2: check no pending signals are left - ok

What happens occasionally (unexpected):
node2: set sync.wsrep_apply_cb in order to start waiting in the background INSERT
node1: INSERT start
node2 (background): INSERT start
node1: INSERT end
// The background INSERT still has _not_ reached the place where it starts
// waiting for the signal:
// DBUG_EXECUTE_IF("sync.wsrep_apply_cb", "now wait_for...");
node2: send signal to background INSERT: "stop waiting and continue executing"
node2: clear sync.wsrep_apply_cb as no longer needed
// The background INSERT reaches DBUG_EXECUTE_IF("sync.wsrep_apply_cb", ...)
// but sync.wsrep_apply_cb has already been cleared and the "wait" code is not
// executed. The signal remains unconsumed.
node2 (background): INSERT end
node2: DROP TABLE
node2: check no pending signals are left - failure, signal.wsrep_apply_cb is
pending (not consumed)

Remove MW-360 test case as it is not intended for MariaDB (uses
MySQL GTID).

74543698a7 MDEV-13179 main.errors fails with wrong errno
The problem was that the introduction of max-thread-mem-used can cause
an allocation error very early, even before mysql_parse() is called.
As mysql_parse() calls thd->reset_for_next_command(), which called
clear_error(), the error number was lost.

Fixed by adding an option to have unique messages for each KILL
signal and change max-thread-mem-used to use this new feature.
This removes a lot of problems with the original approach, where
one could get errors signaled silenty almost any time.

ixed by moving clear_error() from reset_for_next_command() to
do_command(), before any memory allocation for the thread.

Related changes:
- reset_for_next_command() now have an optional parameter if we should
  call clear_error() or not. By default it's called, but not anymore from
  dispatch_command() which was the original problem.
- Added optional paramater to clear_error() to force calling of
  reset_diagnostics_area(). Before clear_error() only called
  reset_diagnostics_area() if there was no error, so we normally
  called reset_diagnostics_area() twice.
- This change removed several duplicated calls to clear_error()
  when starting a query.
- Reset max_mem_used on COM_QUIT, to protect against kill during
  quit.
- Use fatal_error() instead of setting is_fatal_error (cleanup)
- Set fatal_error if max_thead_mem_used is signaled.
  (Same logic we use for other places where we are out of resources)
