2291f8ef73 MDEV-25284: Assertion `info->type == READ_CACHE || info->type == WRITE_CACHE' failed
Problem:
========
This patch addresses two issues.

First, if a CHANGE MASTER command is issued and an error happens
while locating the replica’s relay logs, the logs can be put into an
invalid state where future updates fail and future CHANGE MASTER
calls crash the server. More specifically, right before a replica
purges the relay logs (part of the `CHANGE MASTER TO` logic), the
relay log is temporarily closed with state LOG_TO_BE_OPENED. If the
server errors in-between the temporary log closure and purge, i.e.
during the function find_log_pos, the log should be closed.
MDEV-25284 reveals the log is not properly closed.

Second, upon issuing a RESET SLAVE ALL command, a slave’s GTID
filters are not cleared (DO_DOMAIN_IDS, IGNORE_DOMIAN_IDS,
IGNORE_SERVER_IDS). MySQL had a similar bug report, Bug #18816897,
which fixed this issue to clear IGNORE_SERVER_IDS after issuing
RESET SLAVE ALL in version 5.7.

Solution:
=========

To fix the first problem, the CHANGE MASTER error handling logic was
extended to transition the relay log state to LOG_CLOSED from
LOG_TO_BE_OPENED.

To fix the second problem, the RESET SLAVE ALL logic is extended to
clear the domain_id filter and ignore_server_ids.

8553525931 MDEV-18400 - Move shutdown handling to main thread
Signal handler is now respoinsible for setting abort_loop and breaking
poll() in main thread. The rest is handled by main thread itself.

Removed redundant LOCK_error_log init/destroy wrappers.
Removed redundant unireg_end(): it is trivial and it has only one caller.
Removed unused ready_to_exit from PFS.
Removed kill_in_progress: duplicates abort_loop.
Removed shutdown_in_progress: duplicates abort_loop.
Removed ready_to_exit: was used to make sure main thread waits for
cleanups, which are now done by main thread itself.
Removed SIGNALS_DONT_BREAK_READ, MAYBE_BROKEN_SYSCALL,
kill_broken_server: never defined/used.
Make clean_up() static.

419385dbf1 Mdev-10664 Add statuses about optimistic parallel replication stalls
In this commit we are adding three more status variable to SHOW SLAVE
STATUS.  Slave_DDL_Events and Slave_Non_Transactional_Events.

Slave_DDL_Groups:- This status variable counts the occurrence of DDL
statements

Slave_Non_Transactional_Groups:- This variable count the occurrence
of non-transnational event group.

Slave_Transactional_Groups:- This variable count the occurrence
of transnational event group.

da61107fc8 MDEV-9544 FLUSH [RELAY] LOGS does not rotate logs for a named slave
Problem:- In the case of multisource replication/named slave
when we run "FLUSH LOGS" , it does not flush logs.

Solution:- A new function Master_info_index->flush_all_relay_logs()
is created which will rotate relay logs for all named slave.
This will be called in reload_acl_and_cache function when
connection_name.length == 0

5a759d31f7 Changing field::field_name and Item::name to LEX_CSTRING
Benefits of this patch:
- Removed a lot of calls to strlen(), especially for field_string
- Strings generated by parser are now const strings, less chance of
  accidently changing a string
- Removed a lot of calls with LEX_STRING as parameter (changed to pointer)
- More uniform code
- Item::name_length was not kept up to date. Now fixed
- Several bugs found and fixed (Access to null pointers,
  access of freed memory, wrong arguments to printf like functions)
- Removed a lot of casts from (const char*) to (char*)

Changes:
- This caused some ABI changes
  - lex_string_set now uses LEX_CSTRING
  - Some fucntions are now taking const char* instead of char*
- Create_field::change and after changed to LEX_CSTRING
- handler::connect_string, comment and engine_name() changed to LEX_CSTRING
- Checked printf() related calls to find bugs. Found and fixed several
  errors in old code.
- A lot of changes from LEX_STRING to LEX_CSTRING, especially related to
  parsing and events.
- Some changes from LEX_STRING and LEX_STRING & to LEX_CSTRING*
- Some changes for char* to const char*
- Added printf argument checking for my_snprintf()
- Introduced null_clex_str, star_clex_string, temp_lex_str to simplify
  code
- Added item_empty_name and item_used_name to be able to distingush between
  items that was given an empty name and items that was not given a name
  This is used in sql_yacc.yy to know when to give an item a name.
- select table_name."*' is not anymore same as table_name.*
- removed not used function Item::rename()
- Added comparision of item->name_length before some calls to
  my_strcasecmp() to speed up comparison
- Moved Item_sp_variable::make_field() from item.h to item.cc
- Some minimal code changes to avoid copying to const char *
- Fixed wrong error message in wsrep_mysql_parse()
- Fixed wrong code in find_field_in_natural_join() where real_item() was
  set when it shouldn't
- ER_ERROR_ON_RENAME was used with extra arguments.
- Removed some (wrong) ER_OUTOFMEMORY, as alloc_root will already
  give the error.

TODO:
- Check possible unsafe casts in plugin/auth_examples/qa_auth_interface.c
- Change code to not modify LEX_CSTRING for database name
  (as part of lower_case_table_names)

89aad233de MDEV-12179: Per-engine mysql.gtid_slave_pos table
Intermediate commit.

Move the discovery of mysql.gtid_slave_pos* tables into the SQL thread.

This avoids doing things like opening tables and scanning the mysql
schema for tables inside of the START SLAVE statement, which might
interact badly with existing transaction or table locks.

(Even though START SLAVE is documented to implicitly commit any active
transactions, this appears not to be the case in current code).

Table discovery fits naturally in the SQL thread init code, next to
the loading of mysql.gtid_slave_pos state.

2d0c579a86 Wait for slave threads to start during startup
- Before this patch during startup all slave threads was started without
  any check that they had started properly.
- If one did a START SLAVE, STOP SLAVE or CHANGE MASTER as first command to the server
  there was a chance that server could access structures that where not
  properly initialized which could lead to crashes in
  Log_event::read_log_event
- Fixed by waiting for slave threads to start up properly also during
  server startup, like we do with START SLAVE.
