01d41f68b7 Bug #16912362 LOAD DATA INFILE CLAIMS TO BE HOLDING
'SYSTEM LOCK' IN PROCESSLIST

Analysis
=========
Show processlist shows 'System Lock' in 'State' field while
LOAD DATA INFILE is running.

thd->proc_info update is missing in LOAD DATA INFILE path.
Thus any request will get last unpdated status from lock_table()
during open_table().

Fix:
=======
Update state information from LOAD DATA INFILE path.

0686c34d22 MDEV-8605 MariaDB not use DEFAULT value even when inserted NULL for NOT NULLABLE column
NOT NULL constraint must be checked *after* the BEFORE triggers.
That is for INSERT and UPDATE statements even NOT NULL fields
must be able to store a NULL temporarily at least while
BEFORE INSERT/UPDATE triggers are running.

54689e1d5c MDEV-8715 - Obsolete sql_alloc() in favor of THD::alloc() and thd_alloc()
The following left in semi-improved state to keep patch size reasonable:
- Field operator new: left thd_alloc(current_thd)
- Sql_alloc operator new: left thd_alloc(thd_get_current_thd())
- Item_args constructors: left thd_alloc(thd)
- Item_func_interval::fix_length_and_dec(): no THD arg, have to call current_thd
- Item_func_dyncol_exists::val_int(): same
- Item_dyncol_get::val_str(): same

- Item_dyncol_get::val_real(): same

ee02650bac Bug #16171518 - LOAD XML DOES NOT HANDLE EMPTY ELEMENTS
DESCRIPTION
===========
Inability of mysql LOAD XML command to handle empty XML
tags i.e. <row><tag/></row>. Also the behaviour is wrong
and (different than above) when there is a space in empty
tag i.e. <row><tag /></row>

ANALYSIS
========
In read_xml() the case where we encounter a close tag ('/')
we're decreasing the 'level' blindly which is wrong.
Actually when its an without-space-empty-tag (succeeding
char is '>'), we need to skip the decrement. In other words
whenever we hit a close tag ('/'), decrease the 'level'
only when (i) It's not an (without space) empty tag i.e.
<tag/> or, (ii) It is of format <row col="val" .../>

FIX
===
The switch case for '/' is modified. We've removed the
blind decrement of 'level'. We do it only when its not an
without-space-empty-tag. Also we are setting 'in_tag' to
false to let program know that we're done reading current
tag (required in the case of format <row col="val" .../>)

7332af49e4 - Renaming variables so that they don't shadow others (After this patch one can compile with -Wshadow and get much fewer warnings)
- Changed ER(ER_...) to ER_THD(thd, ER_...) when thd was known or if there was many calls to current_thd in the same function.
- Changed ER(ER_..) to ER_THD_OR_DEFAULT(current_thd, ER...) in some places where current_thd is not necessary defined.
- Removing calls to current_thd when we have access to thd

Part of this is optimization (not calling current_thd when not needed),
but part is bug fixing for error condition when current_thd is not defined
(For example on startup and end of mysqld)

Notable renames done as otherwise a lot of functions would have to be changed:
- In JOIN structure renamed:
   examined_rows -> join_examined_rows
   record_count -> join_record_count
- In Field, renamed new_field() to make_new_field()

Other things:
- Added DBUG_ASSERT(thd == tmp_thd) in Item_singlerow_subselect() just to be safe.
- Removed old 'tab' prefix in JOIN_TAB::save_explain_data() and use members directly
- Added 'thd' as argument to a few functions to avoid calling current_thd.

196e852983 misc IO_CACHE cleanups
* remove unused (and not implemented) WRITE_NET type
* remove cast in my_b_write() macro. my_b_* macros are
  function-like, casts are responsibility of the caller
* replace hackish _my_b_write(info,0,0) with the explicit
  my_b_flush_io_cache() in my_b_write_byte()
* remove unused my_b_fill_cache()
* replace pbool -> my_bool
* make internal IO_CACHE functions static
* reformat comments, correct typos, remove obsolete comments (ISAM)
* assert valid cache type in init_functions()
* use IO_ROUND_DN() macro where appropriate
* remove unused DBUG_EXECUTE_IF in _my_b_cache_write()
* remove unnecessary __attribute__((unused))
* fix goto error in parse_file.cc
* remove redundant reinit_io_cache() in uniques.cc
* don't do reinit_io_cache() if the cache was not initialized
  in ma_check.c
* extract duplicate functionality from various _my_b_*_read
  functions into a common wrapper. Same for _my_b_*_write
* create _my_b_cache_write_r instead of having if's in
  _my_b_cache_write (similar to existing _my_b_cache_read and
  _my_b_cache_read_r)
* don't call mysql_file_write() from my_b_flush_io_cache(),
  call info->write_function() instead

80e61ae21e cleanup: LOAD DATA replication support in IO_CACHE
remove some 14-year old code that added support for
LOAD DATA replication to IO_CACHE:
* three callbacks, of which only two were actually used and that
  were only needed for LOAD DATA replication but were
  tested in every IO_CACHE instance
* an additional opaque void * argument in IO_CACHE, also only
  used for LOAD DATA replication, but present everywhere
* the code to close IO_CACHE prematurely in LOAD DATA to have
  these callbacks called in the correct order and a long
  comment explaining what will happen if IO_CACHE is not
  closed prematurely
* a variable to track whether IO_CACHE was closed prematurely
  (to avoid double-closing it)

db21fddc37 MDEV-6676: Optimistic parallel replication
Implement a new mode for parallel replication. In this mode, all transactions
are optimistically attempted applied in parallel. In case of conflicts, the
offending transaction is rolled back and retried later non-parallel.

This is an early-release patch to facilitate testing, more changes to user
interface / options will be expected. The new mode is not enabled by default.

84f25c25f2 MDEV-3940 Server crash or assertion `item->type() == Item::STRING_ITEM' failure on LOAD DATA through a view with statement binary logging
A "field" could be either an Item_field or
(if loading into a view) an Item_direct_ref that references Item_field.

Also: when iterating fields, use fields of the TABLE_LIST (table or view),
not fields of a TABLE (actual underlying table - might have more columns).

6a2c170141 MDEV-6849 ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP doesn't always work
reset default fields not for every modified row, but only once,
at the beginning, as the set of modified fields doesn't change.

exception: INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE - the set of fields
does change per row and in that case we reset default fields per row.

70823e1d91 MDEV-5120 Test suite test maria-no-logging fails
The reason for the failure was a bug in an include file on debian that causes 'struct stat'
to have different sized depending on the environment.

This patch fixes so that we always include my_global.h or my_config.h before we include any other files.

Other things:
- Removed #include <my_global.h> in some include files; Better to always do this at the top level to have as few
  "always-include-this-file-first' files as possible.
- Removed usage of some include files that where already included by my_global.h or by other files.

95e99e1263 Bug#11759519 - INFINITE HANG WITH 100% CPU USAGE WITH LOAD DATA
LOCAL AND IMPORT ERRORS

Description:
-----------
This bug happens due to the fact that current algorithm is designed
that in the case of LOCAL load of data, in case of the error, the
remaining part of the file is read in order to return the proper
error message to the client side.

But, the problem with current implementation is that data stream
for the client side is cleared only in the case where line delimiters
exist, which is not a case with, for example fixed width
fields.

Fix:
----
Ported patch provided by Sinisa Milivojevic n bug report for this
issue to 5.5+ versions.

As part of this patch code is changed to clear the data stream
by calling new member function "READ_INFO::skip_data_till_eof".

that in the case of LOCAL load of data, in case of the error, the
remaining part of the file is read in order to return the proper
error message to the client side.

57a267a8c0 Merge from 10.0-base to 10.0 the feature MDEV-4506: Parallel replication.
The merge is still missing a few hunks related to temporary tables and
InnoDB log file size. The associated code did not seem to exist in
10.0, so the merge of that needs more work. Until this is fixed, there
are a number of test failures as a result.

4522a8704f Bug#17429677:LAST ARGUMENT OF LOAD DATA ...SET ...STATEMENT
REPEATED TWICE IN BINLOG

Problem:
=======
If LOAD DATA ... SET ... is used the last argument of SET is
repeated twice in replication binlog.

Analysis:
========
LOAD DATA statements are reconstructed once again before
they are written to the binary log. When SET clauses are
specified as part of LOAD DATA statement, these SET clause
user command strings need to be stored in order to rebuild
the original user command. During parsing each column and
the value in the SET command are stored in two differenet
lists. All the values are stored in a string list.

When SET expression has more than one value as shown in the
following example:
SET a = @a, b = CONCAT(@b, '| 123456789');

Parser extracts values in the following manner i.e Item name
, value string, actual length of the value of the item with
in the string.

Item a:
Value for a:"= @a, b = CONCAT(@b, '| 123456789')
str_length = 4
Item b:
Value for b:"= CONCAT(@b, '| 123456789')
str_length = 27

During reconstructing the LOAD DATA command the above
strings are retrived as it is and appended to the LOAD DATA
statement. Hence it becomes as shown below.

SET `a`= @a, b = CONCAT(@b, '| 123456789'),
`b`= CONCAT(@b, '| 123456789')

Fix:
===
During reconstruction of SET command, retrieve exact item
value string rather than reading the entire string.

sql/sql_load.cc:
  Added code to extract the exact Item value.

ce29ca8b76 Bug#16753869:INCORRECT TRUNCATION OF LONG SET EXPRESSION IN
LOAD DATA CAN CAUSE SQL INJECTION

Problem:
=======
A long SET expression in LOAD DATA is incorrectly truncated
when written to the binary log.

Analysis:
========
LOAD DATA statements are reconstructed once again before
they are written to the binary log. When SET clauses are
specified as part of LOAD DATA statement, these SET clause
user command strings need to be stored as it is inorder to
reconstruct the original user command. At present these
strings are stored as part of SET clause item tree's
top most Item node's name itself which is incorrect. As an
Item::name can be of MAX_ALIAS_NAME (256) size. Hence the
name will get truncated to "255".

Because of this the rewritten LOAD DATA statement will be
terminated incorrectly. When this statment is read back by
the mysqlbinlog tool it reads a starting single quote and
continuos to read till it finds an ending quote. Hence any
statement written post ending quote will be considered as
a new statement.

Fix:
===
As name field has length restriction the string value
should not be stored in Item::name. A new String list is
maintained to store the SET expression values and this list
is read during reconstrution.

sql/sql_lex.cc:
  Clear the load data set string list during each query
  execution.
sql/sql_lex.h:
  Added a new String list to store the load data operation's
  SET clause user command strings.

  set string list.
sql/sql_yacc.yy:
  Store the SET caluse user command string as part of load
  data set string list.

a260b15554 MDEV-4011 Added per thread memory counting and usage
Base code and idea from a patch from by plinux at Taobao.

The idea is that we mark all memory that are thread specific with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC.
Memory counting is done per thread in the my_malloc_size_cb_func callback function from my_malloc().
There are plenty of new asserts to ensure that for a debug server the counting is correct.

Information_schema.processlist gets two new columns: MEMORY_USED and EXAMINED_ROWS.
- The later is there mainly to show how query is progressing.

The following changes in interfaces was needed to get this to work:
- init_alloc_root() amd init_sql_alloc() has extra option so that one can mark memory with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC
- One now have to use alloc_root_set_min_malloc() to set min memory to be allocated by alloc_root()
- my_init_dynamic_array() has extra option so that one can mark memory with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC
- my_net_init() has extra option so that one can mark memory with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC
- Added flag for hash_init() so that one can mark hash table to be thread specific.
- Added flags to init_tree() so that one can mark tree to be thread specific.
- Removed with_delete option to init_tree(). Now one should instead use MY_TREE_WITH_DELETE_FLAG.
- Added flag to Warning_info::Warning_info() if the structure should be fully initialized.
- String elements can now be marked as thread specific.
- Internal HEAP tables are now marking it's memory as MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC.
- Changed type of myf from int to ulong, as this is always a set of bit flags.

Other things:
- Removed calls to net_end() and thd->cleanup() as these are now done in ~THD()
- We now also show EXAMINED_ROWS in SHOW PROCESSLIST
- Added new variable 'memory_used'
- Fixed bug where kill_threads_for_user() was using the wrong mem_root to allocate memory.
- Removed calls to the obsoleted function init_dynamic_array()
- Use set_current_thd() instead of my_pthread_setspecific_ptr(THR_THD,...)
