it's not enough to look for NOT NULL IS, this also fails queries like
SELECT NOT NULL <=> NULL;
and adds no value anymore, as the grammar now requires parentheses
MDEV-10134 Add full support for DEFAULT
- Added support for using tables with MySQL 5.7 virtual fields,
including MySQL 5.7 syntax
- Better error messages also for old cases
- CREATE ... SELECT now also updates timestamp columns
- Blob can now have default values
- Added new system variable "check_constraint_checks", to turn of
CHECK constraint checking if needed.
- Removed some engine independent tests in suite vcol to only test myisam
- Moved some tests from 'include' to 't'. Should some day be done for all tests.
- FRM version increased to 11 if one uses virtual fields or constraints
- Changed to use a bitmap to check if a field has got a value, instead of
setting HAS_EXPLICIT_VALUE bit in field flags
- Expressions can now be up to 65K in total
- Ensure we are not refering to uninitialized fields when handling virtual fields or defaults
- Changed check_vcol_func_processor() to return a bitmap of used types
- Had to change some functions that calculated cached value in fix_fields to do
this in val() or getdate() instead.
- store_now_in_TIME() now takes a THD argument
- fill_record() now updates default values
- Add a lookahead for NOT NULL, to be able to handle DEFAULT 1+1 NOT NULL
- Automatically generate a name for constraints that doesn't have a name
- Added support for ALTER TABLE DROP CONSTRAINT
- Ensure that partition functions register virtual fields used. This fixes
some bugs when using virtual fields in a partitioning function
Decimals with float, double and decimal now works the following way:
- DECIMAL_NOT_SPECIFIED is used when declaring DECIMALS without a firm number
of decimals. It's only used in asserts and my_decimal_int_part.
- FLOATING_POINT_DECIMALS (31) is used to mark that a FLOAT or DOUBLE
was defined without decimals. This is regarded as a floating point value.
- Max decimals allowed for FLOAT and DOUBLE is FLOATING_POINT_DECIMALS-1
- Clients assumes that float and double with decimals >= NOT_FIXED_DEC are
floating point values (no decimals)
- In the .frm decimals=FLOATING_POINT_DECIMALS are used to define
floating point for float and double (31, like before)
To ensure compatibility with old clients we do:
- When storing float and double, we change NOT_FIXED_DEC to
FLOATING_POINT_DECIMALS.
- When creating fields from .frm we change for float and double
FLOATING_POINT_DEC to NOT_FIXED_DEC
- When sending definition for a float/decimal field without decimals
to the client as part of a result set we convert NOT_FIXED_DEC to
FLOATING_POINT_DECIMALS.
- variance() and std() has changed to limit the decimals to
FLOATING_POINT_DECIMALS -1 to not get the double converted floating point.
(This was to preserve compatiblity)
- FLOAT and DOUBLE still have 30 as max number of decimals.
Bugs fixed:
variance() printed more decimals than we support for double values.
New behaviour:
- Strings now have 38 decimals instead of 30 when converted to decimal
- CREATE ... SELECT with a decimal with > 30 decimals will create a column
with a smaller range than before as we are trying to preserve the number of
decimals.
Other changes
- We are now using the obsolete bit FIELDFLAG_LEFT_FULLSCREEN to specify
decimals > 31
- NOT_FIXED_DEC is now declared in one place
- For clients, NOT_FIXED_DEC is always 31 (to ensure compatibility).
On the server NOT_FIXED_DEC is DECIMAL_NOT_SPECIFIED (39)
- AUTO_SEC_PART_DIGITS is taken from DECIMAL_NOT_SPECIFIED
- DOUBLE conversion functions are now using DECIMAL_NOT_SPECIFIED instead of
NOT_FIXED_DEC
length/dec/charset are still in LEX, because they're also used
for CAST and dynamic columns.
also
1. fix "MDEV-7041 COLLATION(CAST('a' AS CHAR BINARY)) returns a wrong result"
2. allow BINARY modifier in stored function RETURN clause
3. allow "COLLATION without CHARSET" in SP/SF (parameters, RETURN, DECLARE)
4. print correct variable name in error messages for stored routine parameters
includes:
* remove some remnants of "Bug#14521864: MYSQL 5.1 TO 5.5 BUGS PARTITIONING"
* introduce LOCK_share, now LOCK_ha_data is strictly for engines
* rea_create_table() always creates .par file (even in "frm-only" mode)
* fix a 5.6 bug, temp file leak on dummy ALTER TABLE

This patch fixes the following bugs:
- Bug#5889: Exit handler for a warning doesn't hide the warning in
trigger
- Bug#9857: Stored procedures: handler for sqlwarning ignored
- Bug#23032: Handlers declared in a SP do not handle warnings generated
in sub-SP
- Bug#36185: Incorrect precedence for warning and exception handlers
The problem was in the way warnings/errors during stored routine execution
were handled. Prior to this patch the logic was as follows:
- when a warning/an error happens: if we're executing a stored routine,
and there is a handler for that warning/error, remember the handler,
ignore the warning/error and continue execution.
- after a stored routine instruction is executed: check for a remembered
handler and activate one (if any).
This logic caused several problems:
- if one instruction generates several warnings (errors) it's impossible
to choose the right handler -- a handler for the first generated
condition was chosen and remembered for activation.
- mess with handling conditions in scopes different from the current one.
- not putting generated warnings/errors into Warning Info (Diagnostic
Area) is against The Standard.
The patch changes the logic as follows:
- Diagnostic Area is cleared on the beginning of each statement that
either is able to generate warnings, or is able to work with tables.
- at the end of a stored routine instruction, Diagnostic Area is left
intact.
- Diagnostic Area is checked after each stored routine instruction. If
an instruction generates several condition, it's now possible to take a
look at all of them and determine an appropriate handler.

InnoDB specified.
NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION added to TRADITIONAL sql mode to prevent
silent conversions from InnoDB to MyISAM in that sql mode.
A number of test case results files updated to reflect this change.
Test added to sql_mode.test that checks that TRADITIONAL really
includes NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUION.
mysql-test/t/ctype_utf8.test:
This test lacked "--source include/have_innodb.inc" which meant that
a number of DDL statements with engine=innodb in reality were using
myisam. "--disable_warnings" around all such statements, meant that
these engine substitutions were not visible. Test case has been
updated to include have_innodb.inc and "--disable_warnings" have been
removed for the relevant DDL statements.
Altered param_check to disable warnings on system-sensitive operations
and added some notes / possible TODO
Re-recorded.result file to account for change
is inconsistent
+ several improvements
Details:
- The subtest with assignment of floating point numbers to
DECIMAL parameters in functions and procedures checks
now that the final DECIMAL value is the same as if we assign
the floating point numbers to columns, user variables etc.
= The impact of math libs or truncation must be the same.
- Remove storage engine variants of this test because the
stored procedure properties tested do not depend on
the storage engine.
Use the fastest storage engine (MEMORY) for any tables
needed.
- reset global sort_buffer_size to startup value
- Partially improved formatting.
