d8986fd6c3 Speed up connection time:
-Change my_rnd() slightly to make it safer if two threads use it at the same time.
-Avoid some sprintf and strmov in vio.
-Changed thread_count to be automaticly incremented (instead of under LOCK_thread_count).
-Thread cache now uses LOCK_thread_cache instead of LOCK_thread_count.
-Moved delete thd out from LOCK_thread_count.
-Save some mysql_cond_broadcast(&COND_thread_count) calls.
-Removed call to getsockname() during connect.
-Initialize random generator without locks.

Other things:
-Fixed test cases that depends on changes for LOCK_grant
-Added thread_safe_decrement32() and thread_safe_increment32()
-Removed sql_rnd_with_mutex() and get_thread_running()
-In check_table_access() don't lock LOCK_grant if we can resolve the grant with user or db level grants (the normal case).
-Don't use a lock for setting THD->query_id.
-Fixed bug where thd->set_query_id() could be set to same value by multiple threads.

Thanks to Yoshinori Matsunobu for the benchmark of connection speed and to
Domas Mituzas for the inspiration for many of the fixes.

  message:
    Bug #12408412: GROUP_CONCAT + ORDER BY + INPUT/OUTPUT SAME
    USER VARIABLE = CRASH
    Moved the preparation of the variables that receive the output from
    SELECT INTO from execution time (JOIN:execute) to compile time
    (JOIN::prepare). This ensures that if the same variable is used in the
    SELECT part of SELECT INTO it will be properly marked as non-const
    for this query.
    Test case added.
    Used proper fast iterator.

a better fix (much smaller and without regressions) is coming from 5.1

a260b15554 MDEV-4011 Added per thread memory counting and usage
Base code and idea from a patch from by plinux at Taobao.

The idea is that we mark all memory that are thread specific with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC.
Memory counting is done per thread in the my_malloc_size_cb_func callback function from my_malloc().
There are plenty of new asserts to ensure that for a debug server the counting is correct.

Information_schema.processlist gets two new columns: MEMORY_USED and EXAMINED_ROWS.
- The later is there mainly to show how query is progressing.

The following changes in interfaces was needed to get this to work:
- init_alloc_root() amd init_sql_alloc() has extra option so that one can mark memory with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC
- One now have to use alloc_root_set_min_malloc() to set min memory to be allocated by alloc_root()
- my_init_dynamic_array() has extra option so that one can mark memory with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC
- my_net_init() has extra option so that one can mark memory with MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC
- Added flag for hash_init() so that one can mark hash table to be thread specific.
- Added flags to init_tree() so that one can mark tree to be thread specific.
- Removed with_delete option to init_tree(). Now one should instead use MY_TREE_WITH_DELETE_FLAG.
- Added flag to Warning_info::Warning_info() if the structure should be fully initialized.
- String elements can now be marked as thread specific.
- Internal HEAP tables are now marking it's memory as MY_THREAD_SPECIFIC.
- Changed type of myf from int to ulong, as this is always a set of bit flags.

Other things:
- Removed calls to net_end() and thd->cleanup() as these are now done in ~THD()
- We now also show EXAMINED_ROWS in SHOW PROCESSLIST
- Added new variable 'memory_used'
- Fixed bug where kill_threads_for_user() was using the wrong mem_root to allocate memory.
- Removed calls to the obsoleted function init_dynamic_array()
- Use set_current_thd() instead of my_pthread_setspecific_ptr(THR_THD,...)

fade3647ec Fixed bug mdev-4063 (bug #56927).
This bug could result in returning 0 for the expressions of the form
<aggregate_function>(distinct field) when the system variable
max_heap_table_size was set to a small enough number.
It happened because the method Unique::walk() did not support
the case when more than one pass was needed to merge the trees
of distinct values saved in an external file.

Backported a fix in grant_lowercase.test from mariadb 5.5.

fb313032a6 BUG#15891524: RLI_FAKE MODE IS NOT UNSET AFTER BINLOG REPLAY
When a binlog is replayed into a server, e.g.:
  $ mysqlbinlog binlog.000001 | mysql
it sets a pseudo slave mode on the client connection in order to server
be able to read binlog events, there is, a format description event is
needed to correctly read following events.
Also this pseudo slave mode applies to the current connection
replication rules that are needed to correctly apply binlog events.

If a binlog dump is sourced on a connection, this pseudo slave mode will

perspective to following commands.

Added a new SET statement to binlog dump that will unset pseudo slave

d912a758b0 Bug#14466617 - INVALID WRITES AND/OR CRASH WITH USER
VARIABLES

Analysis:
-------------
After executing the query, new value of the user defined
variables are set in the function "select_dumpvar::send_data".
"select_dumpvar::send_data" first calls function
"Item_func_set_user_var::save_item_result()". This function
checks the nullness of the Item_field passed as parameter
to it and saves it. The nullness of item is stored with
arg[0]'s null_value flag. Then "select_dumpvar::send_data" calls
"Item_func_set_user_var::update()" which notices null
result that was saved and calls "Item_func_set_user_var::
update_hash". But here null_value is not set and args[0]
is different from that given to function "Item_func_set_user_var::
set_item_result()". This causes "Item_func_set_user_var::
update_hash" function to believe that its getting non-null value.
"user_var_entry::length" set to 0 and hence "user_var_entry::value"
is made to point to extra_area allocated in "user_var_entry".
And "Item_func_set_user_var::update_hash" tries to write
at memory beyond extra_area for result type DECIMAL. Because of
this invalid write issue is reported by Valgrind.

Before this bug was introduced, we avoided this problem by
creating "Item_func_set_user_var" object with the same
Item_field as arg[0] and as parameter to
Item_func_set_user_var::save_item_result(). But now
they are refering to different args[0]. Because of this
null_value flag set in parameter Item_field in function
"Item_func_set_user_var::save_item_result()" is not
reflected in "Item_func_set_user_var" object.

Fix:
------------
This issue is reported on versions 5.5.24. Issue does not exists
in 5.5.23, 5.1, 5.6 and trunk.

This issue was introduced by
revid:georgi.kodinov@oracle.com-20120309130449-82e3bs5v3et1x0ef (fix for
bug #12408412), which was pushed into 5.5 and later releases. This patch
has later been reversed in 5.6 and trunk by
revid:norvald.ryeng@oracle.com-20121010135242-xj34gg73h04hrmyh (fix for
bug #14664077). Backported this patch in 5.5 also to fix this issue.

sql/item_func.cc:
  here unsigned value is converted to signed value.
sql/item_func.h:
  last_insert_id() gives an auto_incremented value which can be
  positive only,so defined it as a unsigned longlong sets the
  unsigned_flag to 1.

bc4a456758 MDEV-452 Add full support for auto-initialized/updated timestamp and datetime
Generalized support for auto-updated and/or auto-initialized timestamp
and datetime columns. This patch is a reimplementation of MySQL's
"WL#5874: CURRENT_TIMESTAMP as DEFAULT for DATETIME columns". In order to
ease future merges, this implementation reused few function and variable
names from MySQL's patch, however the implementation is quite different.

TODO:
The only unresolved problem in this patch is the semantics of LOAD DATA for
TIMESTAMP and DATETIME columns in the cases when there are missing or NULL
columns. I couldn't fully comprehend the logic behind MySQL's behavior and
its relationship with their own documentation, so I left the results to be
more consistent with all other LOAD cases.

The problematic test cases can be seen by running the test file function_defaults,
and observing the test case differences. Those were left on purpose for discussion.

  Added code for Master_info_index, which handles storage of multi-master information
  Don't write the empty "" connection_name to multi-master.info file. This is handled by the original code.
sql/rpl_mi.h:
  Added connection_name and Master_info_index
sql/rpl_rli.cc:
  Added connection_name to relay log files.
sql/rpl_rli.h:
  Fixed type of slave_skip_counter as we now access it directly in sys_vars.cc, so it must be uint
sql/share/errmsg-utf8.txt:
  Added new error messages needed for multi-source
  Added multi-source name to error ER_MASTER_INFO and WARN_NO_MASTER_INFO
sql/slave.cc:
  Moved things a bit around to make it easier to handle error conditions.
  Create a global master_info_index and add the "" connection to it
  Ensure that new Master_info doesn't fail.
  Don't call terminate_slave_threads(active_mi..) on end_slave() as this is now done automaticly when deleting master_info_index.
  Delete not needed function close_active_mi(). One can achive same thing by calling end_slave().
  Added support for SHOW FULL SLAVE STATUS (show status for all master connections with connection_name as first column)
sql/slave.h:
  Added new prototypes
sql/sql_base.cc:
  More DBUG_PRINT
sql/sql_class.cc:
  Reset thd->connection_name and thd-->default_master_connection
sql/sql_class.h:
  Added thd->connection_name and thd-->default_master_connection
  Added slave_skip_count to variables to make changing the @@sql_slave_skip_count variable thread safe
sql/sql_const.h:
  Added MAX_CONNECTION_NAME
sql/sql_lex.cc:
  Reset 'lex->verbose' (to simplify some sql_yacc.yy code)
sql/sql_lex.h:
  Added connection_name
sql/sql_parse.cc:
  Added support for connection_name to all SLAVE commands.
  - Instead of using active_mi, we now get the current Master_info from master_info_index.
  - Create new replication threads with CHANGE MASTER
  - Added support for show_all_master_info()
sql/sql_reload.cc:
  Made reset/full slave use master_info_index->get_master_info() instead of active_mi.
  If one uses 'RESET SLAVE "connection_name" all' the connection is removed from master_info_index.
sql/sql_repl.cc:
  sql_slave_skip_counter is moved to thd->variables to make it thread safe and fix some bugs with it
  Add connection name to relay log files.
  Added connection name to errors.
  Added some logging for multi-master if log_warnings > 1
  stop_slave():
  - Don't check if thd is set. It's guaranteed to always be set.
  change_master():
  - Check for duplicate connection names in change_master()
  - Check for wrong arguments first in file (to simplify error handling)
  - Register new connections in master_info_index
sql/sql_yacc.yy:
  Added optional connection_name to a all relevant master/slave commands
sql/strfunc.cc:
  my_global.h shoud always be included first.
sql/sys_vars.cc:
  Added variable default_master_connection
  Made variable sql_slave_skip_counter multi-source safe
sql/sys_vars.h:
  Added Sys_var_session_lexstring (needed for default_master_connection)
  Added Sys_var_multi_source_uint (needed for sql_slave_skip_counter).
