066212d16c MDEV-21958: Query having many NOT-IN clauses running forever
Basic variant of the fix: do not consider conditions in form

  unique_key NOT IN (c1,c2...)

to be sargable. If there are only a few constants, the condition
is not selective. If there are a lot constants, the overhead of
processing such a huge range list is not worth it.

bea84aefb0 MDEV-23811: With large number of indexes optimizer chooses an inefficient plan
This bug could manifest itself for a query with WHERE condition containing
top level OR formula such that each conjunct contained a single-range
condition supported by the same index. One of these range conditions must
be fully covered by another range condition that is used later in the OR
formula. Additionally at least one of these condition should be ANDed with
a sargable range condition supported by a different index.

There were several attempts to fix related problems for OR conditions after
the backport of range optimizer code from MySQL (commit
0e19f3e36f). Unfortunately the first of these
fixes contained typo remained unnoticed until recently. This typo bug led
to rejection of valid range accesses. This patch fixed this typo bug.
The fix revealed another two bugs: one in a constructor for SEL_ARG,
the other in the function tree_or(). Both are fixed in this patch.

65f831d17c Fixed bugs found by valgrind
- Some of the bug fixes are backports from 10.5!
- The fix in innobase/fil/fil0fil.cc is just a backport to get less
  error messages in mysqld.1.err when running with valgrind.
- Renamed HAVE_valgrind_or_MSAN to HAVE_valgrind

6cee9b1953 MDEV-22535 TABLE::initialize_quick_structures() takes 0.5% in oltp_read_only
Fixed by:
- Make all quick_* variable allocated according to real number keys instead
  of MAX_KEY
- Store all the quick* items in separated allocated structure (OPT_RANGE)
- Ensure we don't access any quick* variable without first checking
  opt_range_keys.is_set(). Thanks to this, we don't need any
  pre-initialization of quick* variables anymore.

Some renames was done to use the new structure:
table->quick_keys                -> table->opt_range_keys
table->quick_rows[X]             -> table->opt_range[X].rows
table->quick_key_parts[X]        -> table->opt_range[X].key_parts
table->quick_costs[X]            -> table->opt_range[X].cost
table->quick_index_only_costs[X] -> table->opt_range[X].index_only_cost
table->quick_n_ranges[X]         -> table->opt_range[X].ranges
table->quick_condition_rows      -> table->opt_range_condition_rows

This patch should both decrease memory needed for TABLE objects
(3528 -> 984 + keyinfo) and increase performance, thanks to less
initializations per query, and more localized memory, thanks to the
opt_range structure.

cc0dca3663 MDEV-22910: SIGSEGV in Opt_trace_context::is_started & SIGSEGV in Json_writer::add_table_name (on optimized builds)
Make sure to initialize members of TABLE::reginfo when TABLE::init is called. In this case the problem
was that table->reginfo.join_tab was set for the SELECT query and then was reused by the UPDATE query.
This case occurred only when the SELECT query had a degenerate join.

7bc6735736 MDEV-22401: Optimizer trace: multi-component range is not printed correctly
KEY_MULTI_RANGE::range_flag does not have correct flag bits for
per-endpoint flags (NEAR_MIN, NEAR_MAX, NO_MIN_RANGE, NO_MAX_RANGE).
It only has bits for flags that describe both endpoints.
So
- Document this.
- Switch optimizer trace to using {start|end}_key.flag values, instead.
  This fixes the bug.
- Switch records_in_column_ranges() to doing that too. (This used to
  work, because KEY_MULTI_RANGE::range_flag had correct flag value
  for the last key component, and EITS only uses one-component
  pseudo-indexes)

29cdd50822 MDEV-21932 Another attempt to fix the bug .
The first patch for the bug was erroneous: it did not take into account
the fact that the modified function get_key_scans_params() was called in
different contexts. As a result the patch caused a regression bug MDEV-22191.
The patch for this bug introduced an extra parameter. Actually we can
do without this parameter and use the fourth parameter for the same
puropose - to differentiate between the calls of the function for range
access and for index merge access.

Also removed the call of get_key_scans_params() in the code of the function
merge_same_index_scans() as not needed.
