5a1a714187 Merge 10.2 into 10.3 (except MDEV-17556)
The fix of MDEV-17556 (commit e25623e78a
and commit 61a362c949) has been
omitted due to conflicts and will have to be applied separately later.

828471cbf8 MDEV 15532 Assertion `!log->same_pk' failed in row_log_table_apply_delete
The reason for the failure is that
thd->mdl_context.release_transactional_locks()
was called after commit & rollback even in cases where the current
transaction is still active.

For 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4 the fix is simple:
- Replace all calls to thd->mdl_context.release_transactional_locks() with
  thd->release_transactional_locks(). The thd function will only call
  the mdl_context function if there are no active transactional locks.
  In 10.6 we will better fix where we will change the return value for
  some trans_xxx() functions to indicate if transaction did close the
  transaction or not. This will avoid the need of the indirect call.

Other things:
- trans_xa_commit() and trans_xa_rollback() will automatically
  call release_transactional_locks() if the transaction is closed.
- We can't do that for the other functions as the caller of many of these
  are doing additional work (like close_thread_tables) before calling
  release_transactional_locks().
- Added missing abort_result_set() and missing DBUG_RETURN in
  select_create::send_eof()
- Fixed wrong indentation in injector::transaction::commit()

4b854d4795 MDEV-19838 Wrong direxec param data caused crash
In case of direct execution(stmtid=-1, mariadb_stmt_execute_direct in C
API) application is in control of how many parameters client sends to
the server. In case this number is not equal to actual query parameters
number, the server may start to interprete packet data incorrectly, e.g.
starting from the size of null bitmap. And that could cause it to crash
at some point. The commit introduces some additional COM_STMT_EXECUTE
packet sanity checks:
- checking that "types sent" byte is set, and the value is equal to 1.
  if it's not direct execution, then that value is 0 or 1.
- checking that parameter type value is a valid type, and parameter
  flags value is 0 or only "unsigned" bit is set
- added more checks that read does not go beyond the end of the packet

5acd391e8b MDEV-16039 Crash when selecting virtual columns generated using functions with DAYNAME()
* Allocate items on thd->mem_root while refixing vcol exprs
* Make vcol tree changes register and roll them back after the statement is executed.

Explanation:
Due to collation implementation specifics an Item tree could change while fixing.
The tricky thing here is to make it on a proper arena.
It's usually not a problem when a field is deterministic, however, makes a pain vice-versa, during allocation allocating.
A non-deterministic field should be refixed on each statement, since it depends on the environment state.
Changing the tree will be temporary and therefore it should be reverted after the statement execution.

21e79331c8 MDEV-22779: Crash: Prepared Statement with a '?' parameter inside a re-used CTE
When a prepared statement parameter '?' is used in a CTE that is used
multiple times, the following happens:
- The CTE definition is re-parsed multiple times.
- There are multiple Item_param objects referring to the same "?" in
the original query.
- Prepared_statement::param has a pointer to the first of them, the
  others are "clones".
- When prepared statement parameter gets the value, it should be passed
  over to clones with param->sync_clones() call.

This call is made in insert_params(), etc. It was not made in
insert_params_with_log().

This would cause Item_param to not have any value which would confuse
the query optimizer.

Added the missing call.

5e5ae51b73 MDEV-21341: Fix UBSAN failures: Issue Six
(Variant #2 of the patch, which keeps the sp_head object inside the
MEM_ROOT that sp_head object owns)
(10.3 requires extra work due to sp_package, will commit a separate
patch for it)

sp_head::operator new() and operator delete() were dereferencing sp_head*
pointers to memory that didn't hold a valid sp_head object (it was
not created/already destroyed).
This caused UBSan to crash when looking up type information.

Fixed by providing static sp_head::create() and sp_head::destroy() methods.

a62e9a83c0 MDEV-15945 --ps-protocol does not test some queries
Make mysqltest to use --ps-protocol more

use prepared statements for everything that server supports
with the exception of CALL (for now).

Fix discovered test failures and bugs.

tests:
* PROCESSLIST shows Execute state, not Query
* SHOW STATUS increments status variables more than in text protocol
* multi-statements should be avoided (see tests with a wrong delimiter)
* performance_schema events have different names in --ps-protocol
* --enable_prepare_warnings

mysqltest.cc:
* make sure run_query_stmt() doesn't crash if there's
  no active connection (in wait_until_connected_again.inc)
* prepare all statements that server supports

protocol.h
* Protocol_discard::send_result_set_metadata() should not send
  anything to the client.

sql_acl.cc:
* extract the functionality of getting the user for SHOW GRANTS
  from check_show_access(), so that mysql_test_show_grants() could
  generate the correct column names in the prepare step

sql_class.cc:
* result->prepare() can fail, don't ignore its return value
* use correct number of decimals for EXPLAIN columns

sql_parse.cc:
* discard profiling for SHOW PROFILE. In text protocol it's done in
  prepare_schema_table(), but in --ps it is called on prepare only,
  so nothing was discarding profiling during execute.
* move the permission checking code for SHOW CREATE VIEW to
  mysqld_show_create_get_fields(), so that it would be called during
  prepare step too.
* only set sel_result when it was created here and needs to be
  destroyed in the same block. Avoid destroying lex->result.
* use the correct number of tables in check_show_access(). Saying
  "as many as possible" doesn't work when first_not_own_table isn't
  set yet.

sql_prepare.cc:
* use correct user name for SHOW GRANTS columns
* don't ignore verbose flag for SHOW SLAVE STATUS
* support preparing REVOKE ALL and ROLLBACK TO SAVEPOINT
* don't ignore errors from thd->prepare_explain_fields()
* use select_send result for sending ANALYZE and EXPLAIN, but don't
  overwrite lex->result, because it might be needed to issue execute-time
  errors (select_dumpvar - too many rows)

sql_show.cc:
* check grants for SHOW CREATE VIEW here, not in mysql_execute_command

sql_view.cc:
* use the correct function to check privileges. Old code was doing
  check_access() for thd->security_ctx, which is invoker's sctx,
  not definer's sctx. Hide various view related errors from the invoker.

sql_yacc.yy:
* initialize lex->select_lex for LOAD, otherwise it'll contain garbage
  data that happen to fail tests with views in --ps (but not otherwise).

3473e0452e MDEV-17154 Multiple selects from parametrized CTE fails with syntax error
This patch fills a serious flaw in the implementation of common table
expressions. Before this patch an attempt to prepare a statement from
a query with a parameter marker in a CTE that was used more than once
in the query ended up with a bogus error message. Similarly if a statement
in a stored procedure contained a CTE whose specification used a
local variables and this CTE was referred to more than once in the
statement then the server failed to execute the stored procedure returning
a bogus error message on a non-existing field.

The problems appeared due to incorrect handling of parameter markers /
local variables in CTEs that were referred more than once.

This patch fixes the problems by differentiating between the original
occurrences of a parameter marker / local variable used in the
specification of a CTE and the corresponding occurrences used
in copies of this specification. These copies are substituted
instead of non-first references to the CTE.

The idea of the fix and even some code were taken from the MySQL
implementation of the common table expressions.

d8b8079e42 EV-16992 Assertion `table_ref->table || table_ref->view' failed in
Field_iterator_table_ref::set_field_iterator

Several functions that processed different prepare statements missed
the DT_INIT flag in last parameter of the open_normal_and_derived_tables()
calls. It made context analysis of derived tables dependent on the order in
which the derived tables were processed by mysql_handle_derived(). This
order was induced by the order of SELECTs in all_select_list.
In 10.4 the order of SELECTs in all_select_list became different and lack
of the DT_INIT flags in some open_normal_and_derived_tables() call became
critical as some derived tables were not identified as such.

106f0b5798 MDEV-16385 ROW SP variable is allowed in unexpected context
The problem described in the bug report happened because the code
did not test check_cols(1) after fix_fields() in a few places.

Additionally, fix_fields() could be called multiple times for SP variables,
because they are all fixed at a early stage in append_for_log().

Solution:
1. Adding a few helper methods
   - fix_fields_if_needed()
   - fix_fields_if_needed_for_scalar()
   - fix_fields_if_needed_for_bool()
   - fix_fields_if_needed_for_order_by()
  and using it in many cases instead of fix_fields() where
  the "fixed" status is not definitely known to be "false".

2. Adding DBUG_ASSERT(!fixed) into Item_splocal*::fix_fields()
   to catch double execution.

3. Adding tests.

As a good side effect, the patch removes a lot of duplicate code (~60 lines):

   if (!item->fixed &&
       item->fix_fields(..) &&
       item->check_cols(1))
     return true;
