ea9869504d MDEV-33921: Replication breaks when filtering two-phase XA transactions
There are two problems.

First, replication fails when XA transactions are used where the
slave has replicate_do_db set and the client has touched a different
database when running DML such as inserts. This is because XA
commands are not treated as keywords, and are thereby not exempt
from the replication filter. The effect of this is that during an XA
transaction, if its logged “use db” from the master is filtered out
by the replication filter, then XA END will be ignored, yet its
corresponding XA PREPARE will be executed in an invalid state,
thereby breaking replication.

Second, if the slave replicates an XA transaction which results in
an empty transaction, the XA START through XA PREPARE first phase of
the transaction won’t be binlogged, yet the XA COMMIT will be
binlogged. This will break replication in chain configurations.

The first problem is fixed by treating XA commands in
Query_log_event as keywords, thus allowing them to bypass the
replication filter. Note that Query_log_event::is_trans_keyword() is
changed to accept a new parameter to define its mode, to either
check for XA commands or regular transaction commands, but not both.
In addition, mysqlbinlog is adapted to use this mode so its
--database filter does not remove XA commands from its output.

The second problem fixed by overwriting the XA state in the XID
cache to be XA_ROLLBACK_ONLY, so at commit time, the server knows to
rollback the transaction and skip its binlogging. If the xid cache
is cleared before an XA transaction receives its completion command
(e.g. on server shutdown), then before reporting ER_XAER_NOTA when
the completion command is executed, the filter is first checked if
the database is ignored, and if so, the error is ignored.

cfbd57dfb7 MDEV-33064: Sync trx->wsrep state from THD on trx start
InnoDB transactions may be reused after committed:
- when taken from the transaction pool
- during a DDL operation execution

In this case wsrep flag on trx object is cleared, which may cause wrong
execution logic afterwards (wsrep-related hooks are not run).

Make trx->wsrep flag initialize from THD object only once on InnoDB transaction
start and don't change it throughout the transaction's lifetime.
The flag is reset at commit time as before.

Unconditionally set wsrep=OFF for THD objects that represent InnoDB background
threads.

Make Wsrep_schema::store_view() operate in its own transaction.

Fix streaming replication transactions' fragments rollback to not switch
THD->wsrep value during transaction's execution
(use THD->wsrep_ignore_table as a workaround).

Correct the second parameter for strxnmov to prevent potential buffer

While the second parameter is usually correct, there are exceptions
that need fixing.

This commit addresses the issue within frm_file_exists() and other
affected places.

7aa86eb1e1 MDEV-33828 : Transactional commit not supported by involved engine(s)
Problem was too tight condition on ha_commit_trans to not
allow non transactional storage engines participate 2pc
in Galera case. This is required because transaction
using e.g. procedures might read mysql.proc table inside

storage engine that does not support 2pc.

Fixed by allowing read only transactions to storage
engines that do not support two phase commit to participate
2pc transaction. These will be committed later separately.

c73c6aea63 MDEV-33426: Aria temptables wrong thread-specific memory accounting in slave thread
Aria temporary tables account allocated memory as specific to the current

0381921e26 MDEV-33277 In-place upgrade causes invalid AUTO_INCREMENT values
MDEV-33308 CHECK TABLE is modifying .frm file even if --read-only

As noted in commit d0ef1aaf61,
MySQL as well as older versions of MariaDB server would during
ALTER TABLE ... IMPORT TABLESPACE write bogus values to the
PAGE_MAX_TRX_ID field to pages of the clustered index, instead of
letting that field remain 0.
In commit 8777458a6e this field
was repurposed for PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC in the clustered index root page.

To avoid trouble when upgrading from MySQL or older versions of MariaDB,
we will try to detect and correct bogus values of PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC
when opening a table for the first time from the SQL layer.

btr_read_autoinc_with_fallback(): Add the parameters to mysql_version,max
to indicate the TABLE_SHARE::mysql_version of the .frm file and the
maximum value allowed for the type of the AUTO_INCREMENT column.
In case the table was originally created in MySQL or an older version of
MariaDB, read also the maximum value of the AUTO_INCREMENT column from
the table and reset the PAGE_ROOT_AUTO_INC if it is above the limit.

dict_table_t::get_index(const dict_col_t &) const: Find an index that
starts with the specified column.

ha_innobase::check_for_upgrade(): Return HA_ADMIN_FAILED if InnoDB
needs upgrading but is in read-only mode. In this way, the call to
update_frm_version() will be skipped.

row_import_autoinc(): Adjust the AUTO_INCREMENT column at the end of
ALTER TABLE...IMPORT TABLESPACE. This refinement was suggested by
Debarun Banerjee.

The changes outside InnoDB were developed by Michael 'Monty' Widenius:

Added print_check_msg() service for easy reporting of check/repair messages
in ENGINE=Aria and ENGINE=InnoDB.
Fixed that CHECK TABLE do not update the .frm file under --read-only.
Added 'handler_flags' to HA_CHECK_OPT as a way for storage engines to
store state from handler::check_for_upgrade().

952f06aa8b MDEV-29989 binlog_do_db option breaks versioning table
Problem:
=========
During commit, server calls prepare_commit_versioned to
determine the transaction modified system-versioned data.
Due to binlog_do_db option, we disable the binlog for the
statement. But prepare_commit_versioned() is being
called only when binlog is enabled for the statement.

Fix:
===
prepare_commit_versioned() should happen irrespective
of binlog state. So if the server has any read-write operation
then we should call prepare_commit_versioned().

734583b0d7 MDEV-31400 Simple plugin dependency resolution
We introduce simple plugin dependency. A plugin init function may
return HA_ERR_RETRY_INIT. If this happens during server startup when
the server is trying to initialise all plugins, the failed plugins
will be retried, until no more plugins succeed in initialisation or
want to be retried.

This will fix spider init bugs which is caused in part by its
dependency on Aria for initialisation.

The reason we need a new return code, instead of treating every
failure as a request for retry, is that it may be impossible to clean
up after a failed plugin initialisation. Take InnoDB for example, it
has a global variable `buf_page_cleaner_is_active`, which may not
satisfy an assertion during a second initialisation try, probably
because InnoDB does not expect the initialisation to be called
twice.

a8ea6627a4 MDEV-31448: Killing a replica thread awaiting its GCO can hang/crash a parallel replica
The problem was an incorrect unmark_start_commit() in
signal_error_to_sql_driver_thread(). If an event group gets an error, this
unmark could run after the following GCO started, and the subsequent
re-marking could access de-allocated GCO.

The offending unmark_start_commit() looks obviously incorrect, and the fix
is to just remove it. It was introduced in the MDEV-8302 patch, the commit
message of which suggests it was added there solely to satisfy an assertion
in ha_rollback_trans(). So update this assertion instead to not trigger for
event groups that experienced an error (rgi->worker_error). When an error
occurs in an event group, all following event groups are skipped anyway, so
the unmark should never be needed in this case.

9808ebe195 MDEV-30978: On slave XA COMMIT/XA ROLLBACK fail to return an error in read-only mode
Where a read-only server permits writes through replication, it
should not permit user connections to commit/rollback XA
transactions prepared via replication. The bug reported in
MDEV-30978 shows that this can happen. This is because there is no
read only check in the XA transaction logic, the most relevant one
occurs in ha_commit_trans() for normal statements/transactions.

This patch extends the XA transaction logic to check the read only
status of the server before performing an XA COMMIT or ROLLBACK.

99bd226059 MDEV-31558 Add InnoDB engine information to the slow query log
The new statistics is enabled by adding the "engine", "innodb" or "full"
option to --log-slow-verbosity

Example output:

 # Pages_accessed: 184  Pages_read: 95  Pages_updated: 0  Old_rows_read: 1
 # Pages_read_time: 17.0204  Engine_time: 248.1297

Page_read_time is time doing physical reads inside a storage engine.
(Writes cannot be tracked as these are usually done in the background).
Engine_time is the time spent inside the storage engine for the full
duration of the read/write/update calls. It uses the same code as
'analyze statement' for calculating the time spent.

The engine statistics is done with a generic interface that should be
easy for any engine to use. It can also easily be extended to provide
even more statistics.

Currently only InnoDB has counters for Pages_% and Undo_% status.
Engine_time works for all engines.

Implementation details:

class ha_handler_stats holds all engine stats. This class is included
in handler and THD classes.
While a query is running, all statistics is updated in the handler. In
close_thread_tables() the statistics is added to the THD.

handler::handler_stats is a pointer to where statistics should be
collected. This is set to point to handler::active_handler_stats if
stats are requested. If not, it is set to 0.
handler_stats has also an element, 'active' that is 1 if stats are
requested. This is to allow engines to avoid doing any 'if's while
updating the statistics.

Cloned or partition tables have the pointer set to the base table if
status are requested.

There is a small performance impact when using --log-slow-verbosity=engine:
- All engine calls in 'select' will be timed.
- IO calls for InnoDB reads will be timed.
- Incrementation of counters are done on local variables and accesses
  are inline, so these should have very little impact.
- Statistics has to be reset for each statement for the THD and each
  used handler. This is only 40 bytes, which should be neglectable.
- For partition tables we have to loop over all partitions to update
  the handler_status as part of table_init(). Can be optimized in the
  future to only do this is log-slow-verbosity changes. For this to work
  we have to update handler_status for all opened partitions and
  also for all partitions opened in the future.

Other things:
- Added options 'engine' and 'full' to log-slow-verbosity.
- Some of the new files in the test suite comes from Percona server, which
  has similar status information.
- buf_page_optimistic_get(): Do not increment any counter, since we are
  only validating a pointer, not performing any buf_pool.page_hash lookup.
- Added THD argument to save_explain_data_intern().
- Switched arguments for save_explain_.*_data() to have
  always THD first (generates better code as other functions also have THD
  first).
