The InnoDB DATA DIRECTORY attribute is not implemented via
symbolic links but something similar, *.isl files that contain
the names of data files.
InnoDB failed to ignore the DATA DIRECTORY attribute even though
the server was started with --skip-symbolic-links.
Native ALTER TABLE in InnoDB will retain the DATA DIRECTORY attribute
of the table, no matter if the table will be rebuilt or not.
Generic ALTER TABLE (with ALGORITHM=COPY) as well as TRUNCATE TABLE
will discard the DATA DIRECTORY attribute.
All tests have been run with and without the ./mtr option
--mysqld=--skip-symbolic-links
and some tests that use the InnoDB DATA DIRECTORY attribute
have been adjusted for this.
Remove srv_win_file_flush_method
- Rename srv_unix_file_flush_method to srv_file_flush_method, and
rename constants to remove UNIX from them, i.e SRV_UNIX_FSYNC=>SRV_FSYNC
- Add SRV_ALL_O_DIRECT_FSYNC corresponding to current Windows default
(no buffering for either log or data, flush on both log and data)
- change os_file_open on Windows to behave identically to Unix wrt
O_DIRECT and O_DSYNC settings. map O_DIRECT to FILE_FLAG_NO_BUFFERING and
O_DSYNC to FILE_FLAG_WRITE_THROUGH
- remove various #ifdef _WIN32

The failure happened because 5.7 has changed the signature of
the bool handler::primary_key_is_clustered() const
virtual function ("const" was added). InnoDB was using the old
signature which caused the function not to be used.

INNODB: "DATA DIRECTORY" OPTION OF CREATE TABLE FAILS WITH PWRITE() OS
ERROR 22
Fix for version mysql-5.6
PROBLEM
========
For version mysql-5.6.27 onwards InnoDB fails to create a table
with explicit 'data directory' option when Innodb_flush_method
is set to O_DIRECT.While creating link file we get a a pwrite
error 22 due to the alignment restrictions imposed by O_DIRECT
flag which is being set for the link file created.
FIX
===
Fixed the above issue by making use of file IO functions while
creating the link file that wouldn't let the O_DIRECT flag
restrictions arise.
