Populate in the json library the killed as a specific
error message. As the json library has a killed_ptr
is approprate it handles it.
As json_report_error now processes the killed there's
no need of thd->check_killed().
Verified that the path after every json_scan_next, the
location of checking the killed_ptr, reports errors
correctly.
Backport to 10.6 without JSON_OVERLAPS
The json_engine killed_ptr was of type uchar however the enum
in the server is dependant on the architecture. On big-endian
architectures like IBM Z, retreiving a uchar* retreived the
unmodifed part of the THD->kill enum location and was always 0.
As C++11 allows enums to inherit a type, used uint32_t as the base
class of killed_state type in the server and used uint32_t in the
json library.
reload_acl_and_cache required an expression change to avoid
the compile error:
sql/sql_reload.cc:472:24: error: enumerated and non-enumerated
type in conditional expression [-Werror=enum-conversion]
472 | return result || (thd ? thd->killed : 0);
Added the kill_ptr assignment the following functions can be
killed:
* Item_func_json_depth::val_int
* Item_func_json_type::val_str
* Item_func_json_length::val_int
Item_func_json_array_append::val_str, check_killed() only applied
to json_error: label and not return_null.
Item_func_json_format::val_str(), corresponding to the SQL,
json_compact, json_detailed, json_loose - add debug instrumentation
for the func_json_notembedded test.
MDEV-26726 (fcd345de48) added a json_pause_execution sync point
however the test case used debug_max_statement_time, which doesn't
exist. Fix the sync point name in the test.

Analysis:
When json is being parsed, the step decreases without a out-of-bound check
resulting in failure.
Fix:
Before decreasing the step, check if it will result into out of bound.
json_get_path_start() set p->last_step to p->steps - 1, creating a
pointer before the beginning of the steps[] array. This is undefined
behavior flagged by UBSAN as "index -1 out of bounds for type
json_path_step_t[32]".
Use NULL as the sentinel value instead, and check for NULL in
json_get_path_next() rather than comparing against p->steps.

Fix multiplication correctly - by truncating long factors before
multiplication. Not both equally, but in a way that minimizes the
error.
Add more multiplication tests to verify that now multiplication
works correctly.
Revert "MDEV-17256 Decimal field multiplication bug." (57898316b6)
It removes zero truncation from decimal_mul() and fixes
reported symptoms.
But reintroduces multiplication bug.
Remove the unscoped #pragma GCC diagnostic ignored
"-Wdeprecated-declarations" from include/violite.h and replace all
sprintf/vsprintf calls with snprintf/vsnprintf across the codebase.
Where possible, pass actual buffer sizes as function parameters
instead of using hardcoded constants or recomputing strlen().
Notable API changes:
- get_date(): added to_len parameter for buffer size
- nice_time(), end_timer() in client/mysql.cc: added buff_size
- generate_new_name(): added name_size parameter
- calc_md5(): added buffer_size parameter (fixes off-by-one)
- MD5_HASH_TO_STRING macro: added _size parameter
- Added MYSQL_UDF_MAX_RESULT_LENGTH constant in mysql_com.h
Also fixed a pre-existing bug in sql/rpl_mi.cc where the ellipsis
"..." was written to the wrong buffer (dbuff instead of buff).
Vendored code is excluded: extra/readline, extra/wolfssl,
wsrep-lib, libmariadb, storage/mroonga/vendor, zlib.
Problem:
UBSAN reports runtime errors in string comparision functions when
pointer arithmetic is done without checking NULL.
Fix:
- Add debug asserts in `strnncoll` function to catch NULL pointers.
- Define a new function `streq_safe` as a replacement for `streq`,
capable of handling NULL pointers. Replace `streq` with `streq_safe`
at multiple call sites, identified by the debug asserts.
- Add empty identifier checks in `is_infoschema_db` and
`is_perfschema_db` before calling the deep character-set based
comparision.

Remove function checks that are guaranteed by C89/C99 standards to
reduce the excessive time spent during CMake configuration step. Also,
clean up related compatibility code.

The function json_skip_array_and_count() was trapping syntax errors
(e.g., trailing commas) in a local engine copy. Because the error state
wasn't propagated back to the main engine, json_find_path() would
proceed with an inconsistent state, eventually triggering an assertion
failure.
This patch ensures that any error encountered during the lookahead
scan is propagated to the primary engine. This allows the parser to
fail gracefully with a syntax error instead of crashing.
See https://github.com/Cyan4973/xxHash/issues/943
This fixes compiling errors like
inlining failed in call to ‘always_inline’ ‘XXH3_scrambleAcc_sse2’: function not considered for inlining
my_utf16le_uni(), my_lengthsp_utf16le(): Instead of wrongly claiming
aligned access by invoking uint2korr(), inform the compiler of
unaligned access by invoking memcpy(), which will be optimized away.
This is achived by changing the 'is_prefix' parameter to strncoll
from a my_bool to my_bool*. This parameter is null if not specified by
the caller. If the is_prefix parameter is set to point to a my_bool
variable, this variable will be set to 1 if the second argument is
a prefix of the first.
This is needed by TO_DATE to be able to detect partial uniqiue matches of
months etc. find_type() did this for latin1 strings, but we did not
do this for utf8mb4 strings.
This patch fixes this incompatibility.
PARTITION BY [LINEAR] KEY ALGORITHM={MYSQL51|MYSQL55|BASE31|CRC32C|XXH32|XXH3}
- The MYSQL5X algorithms are the existing algorithms, with MYSQL55
being the default
- The BASE31 algorithm uses a base-31 representation of the bytes, see
Modular hashing in https://algs4.cs.princeton.edu/34hash/. It serves
as a simple baseline that distributes better than the old mysql5x
algorithms
- CRC32C uses my_crc32c.
- XXH32 and XXH3 are xxhash algorithms - xxhash.h copied from latest
release (0.8.3) of https://github.com/Cyan4973/xxHash
For performance (esp. xxh) we use one-shot hash functions in binary
hash_sort, and streaming hash function otherwise for byte-by-byte
hashing. XXH is the only stateful hash function. The other hash
algorithms are stateless and homomorphic, so streaming and one-shot
functions are identical.
Also updated the columnstore hash due to the change of MY_HASH_ADD
signature.
The following testing commands were run at an earlier version of the
patch with the following patch that changes the default algorithm from
MYSQL55 to CRC32C, and XXH32 (changing the patch accordingly)
