stunnel has been a component used by the rsync SST mechanism of galera
but has never been listed as a package dependency.
Since MDEV-28233 corrected a unencrypted fallback in the the case of
stunnel being absent, we add stunnel as a recommendation for Debian and
RPM packages.
MDEV-39788 found that the recent refactor on the `main` (now 12.3)
branch missed the (inconsistent) detail that, unlike `relay-log.info`,
`master.info`’s line count _includes_ the line-count line itself.
This commit extends and simplifies the test
`rpl.rpl_read_new_relay_log_info` to `main.rpl_new_info` so it
* Checks this detail to remind future changes of this type of mistake.
* Covers `@@master_info` as well.
* Covers the refactor’s buggy format as a downgrade/revert test.
While here, this commit also includes a new-format version
of MDEV-38020’s test to double as the value read check.

Some test cases where impacted:
* ps_missed_cmds{,_bin_prot} - used a topic_id of 0 that is
now used, used MAX_INT instead.
* range_notembedded used the help data as a test case. As its not
a stable table data, replaces with static data. Test case valid
by ensuring the ANALYZE EXPLAIN and optimizer trace had the same
structure. Also valided the MDEV-24739/MDEV-25069 bug fixes from
where the test case originaled, when reverted, exhibited the
previous behavour before the bug fixes.
This reverts the effect of MDEV-21654 and includes
pam_mariadb_mtr in the mariadb-test-data Deb package.
This allows our CI systems to run tests on the
pam implementation on Debian systems.
As the pam configuration can include a full path,
we've change the installation of the pam module
pam_mariadb_mtr.so to under the /usr/lib*/plugins/test_pam_modules
directory and configured the pam configuration file,
suite/plugins/pam/mariadb_mtr, to include the
full path to pam_mariadb_mtr.so.
The tool is named mariadb-migrate-config-file.
The main purpose of the tool is to change MySQL option
files to work both for MySQL and MariaDB.
There are options to do the changes in the options file inline,
or at-end-of-file. One can also remove or comment unknown options.
The list of supported options is generated compile time from
mariadbd --help. All server options, including compiled plugins, are
supported.
The bulk of the code comes from Väinö.
Monty has updated it with a lot of extra options.
Wlad helped with cmake integration
Other things:
- Fixed a memory leak in sql_plugin.cc
- plugin-load will now in case of errors try to load all given plugins
before aborted
- If silent-startup is used, plugin-load will not give errors for
plugins it cannot load or warnings about plugin marturity level.
- my_rm_tree() will now delete symlinks, not the actual file, if
MY_NOSYMLINK flag is used.
- my_stat() will now give data for symlink if MY_NOSYMLINKS is used.
- Added 'number of lines' option to mysqltest --cat_file

Remove the complexity of check_for_crashed_tables
by removing it all together. When check_for_crashed_tables
was written there was a desire to recover MyISAM tables.
With Aria being default from 10.4 for system tables,
and all non-MyISAM engines being able to do crash
recovery there isn't the need to autocheck as part
of a system service.
With check_for_crashed_tables removed there is no need
for a mailx package recommendation.
But doesn't package it. The devel-6 branch of columnstore
is in a low maintaince state. We can't readd aarch64.
To prevent our CI resources building aarch64 columnstore
on the 10.6 and 10.11 branches we adjust our autobake-deb.sh
to keep the disable there.
The version check to 10 is so that when this is merged to
11.4 it becomes no longer impacting.
In all supported Debian versions, which are all 1.69+,
this package only provided a library stub. The header
files where moved into libboost-dev when upstream removed
the need for a library.
There was elements of mariadb.service exclusively for galera.
Separate these out to a galera.conf file installed in
/usr/lib/systemd/systemd/mariadb.service.d/galera.conf.
