the information about index algorithm was stored in two
places inconsistently split between both.
BTREE index could have key->algorithm == HA_KEY_ALG_BTREE, if the user
explicitly specified USING BTREE or HA_KEY_ALG_UNDEF, if not.
RTREE index had key->algorithm == HA_KEY_ALG_RTREE
and always had key->flags & HA_SPATIAL
FULLTEXT index had key->algorithm == HA_KEY_ALG_FULLTEXT
and always had key->flags & HA_FULLTEXT
HASH index had key->algorithm == HA_KEY_ALG_HASH or HA_KEY_ALG_UNDEF
long unique index always had key->algorithm == HA_KEY_ALG_LONG_HASH
In this commit:
All indexes except BTREE and HASH always have key->algorithm
set, HA_SPATIAL and HA_FULLTEXT flags are not used anymore (except
for storage to keep frms backward compatible).
As a side effect ALTER TABLE now detects FULLTEXT index renames correctly
Currently there are mechanism to mark a system variable as
deprecated, but they are only used to print warning messages
when a deprecated variable is set.
Leverage the existing mechanisms in order to make the
deprecation information available at the --help output of mysqld by:
* Moving the deprecation information (i.e `deprecation_substitute`
attribute) from the `sys_var` class into the `my_option` struct.
As every `sys_var` contains its own `my_option` struct, the access
to the deprecation information remains available to `sys_var`
objects. `my_getotp` functions, which works directly with
`my_option` structs, gain access to this information while building
the --help output.
* For plugin variables, leverages the `PLUGIN_VAR_DEPRECATED` flag
and set the `deprecation_substitute` attribute accordingly when
building the `my_option` objects.
* Change the `option_cmp` function to use the `deprecation_substitute`
attribute instead of the name when sorting the options. This way
deprecated options and the substitutes will be grouped together.

This fixed the MySQL bug# 20338 about misuse of double underscore
prefix __WIN__, which was old MySQL's idea of identifying Windows
Replace it by _WIN32 standard symbol for targeting Windows OS
(both 32 and 64 bit)
Not that connect storage engine is not fixed in this patch (must be
fixed in "upstream" branch)
This patch changes the main name of 3 byte character set from utf8 to
utf8mb3. New old_mode UTF8_IS_UTF8MB3 is added and set TRUE by default,
so that utf8 would mean utf8mb3. If not set, utf8 would mean utf8mb4.
One should not change the program arguments!
This change also reduces warnings from the icc compiler.
Almost all changes are just syntax changes (adding const to
'get_one_option function' declarations).
Other changes:
- Added a few cast of 'argument' from 'const char*' to 'char *'. This
was mainly in calls to 'external' functions we don't have control of.
- Ensure that all reset of 'password command line argument' are similar.
(In almost all cases it was just adding a comment and a cast)
- In mysqlbinlog.cc and mysqld.cc there was a few cases that changed
the command line argument. These places where changed to instead allocate
the option in a MEM_ROOT to avoid changing the argument. Some of this
code was changed to ensure that different programs did parsing the
same way. Added a test case for the changes in mysqlbinlog.cc
- Changed a few variables that took their value from command line options
from 'char *' to 'const char *'.
MDEV-22689 MSAN use-of-uninitialized-value in decode_bytes()
This was not a user visible issue as the huffman code lookup tables would
automatically ignore any of the unitialized bits
Fixed by adding a end-zero byte to the bit-stream buffer.
Other things:
- Fixed a (for this case) wrong assert in strmov() for myisamchk
and aria_chk by removing the strmov()
The merge only covered 10.1 up to
commit 4d248974e0.
Actually merge the changes up to
commit 0a534348c7.
Also, remove the unused InnoDB field trx_t::abort_type.
Reason for the problem was that the hash of changed files in the key cache was too small (was 128). Fixed by making the hash size larger and changeable.
- Introduced key-cache-file-hash-size (default 512) for MyISAM and aria_pagecache_file_hash_size (default 512) for Aria.
- Added new status variable "Feature_delay_key_write" which counts number of tables opened that are using delay_key_write

This is port of fix for MySQL BUG#17647863.
revno: 5572
revision-id: jon.hauglid@oracle.com-20131030232243-b0pw98oy72uka2sj
committer: Jon Olav Hauglid <jon.hauglid@oracle.com>
timestamp: Thu 2013-10-31 00:22:43 +0100
message:
Bug#17647863: MYSQL DOES NOT COMPILE ON OSX 10.9 GM
Rename test() macro to MY_TEST() to avoid conflict with libc++.
includes:
* remove some remnants of "Bug#14521864: MYSQL 5.1 TO 5.5 BUGS PARTITIONING"
* introduce LOCK_share, now LOCK_ha_data is strictly for engines
* rea_create_table() always creates .par file (even in "frm-only" mode)
* fix a 5.6 bug, temp file leak on dummy ALTER TABLE
- If one specifies --force twice to myisamchk and aria_chk, then we will try to finnish the repair even if sort_buffer would be too small.
This was done by dynamically allocate buffer handler objects as long as memory lasts.
- New option for myisamchk and aria_chk: create-missing-keys
- Changed default size of myisam_sort_buffer_size from 8M to 128M.
- Changed default size of sort_buffer_size in aria_chk from 128M to 256M.
- Increased information in error message about 'sort_buffer_size' beeing to small.
- Print also to 'show warnings' if repair was retried.
- Increased size of internal sort-buffer-readers from 16K to 128K
- Changed printing of 'number of records' to use %ll instead of casting to long
- Changed buffer sizes for myisam and aria to use MY_ALIGN_DOWN() to get same number of bytes allocated on different machines.
include/my_global.h:
Added MY_ALIGN_DOWN() to get previous alignment (for big memory areas)
include/myisam.h:
Increased size of types to be able to handle more records
include/myisamchk.h:
