e156db85a7 sp_rcontext::sp cleanup
- Renaming sp_rcontext::sp to sp_rcontext:m_sp for consistency
  with other sp_rcontext_members, and for consistency with the
  same purpose member Item_sp_variable::m_sp.

- Passing a "const sp_head*" pointer to sp_rcontext::sp_rcontext()
  and to sp_rcontext::create().
  Initializing sp_rcontext::m_sp right in the constructor
  instead of having a separate initialization after "new sp_rcontext"
  or sp_rcontext::create().

- Adding the "const" qualifier to sp_rcontext::m_sp and Item_sp_variable::m_sp

fcf631eafb A cleanup for MDEV-10914 ROW data type for stored routine variables
Changing datatypes for:
- Item_spvar_args::m_table
- sp_rcontext::m_var_table
- return value of create_virtual_tmp_table()
from TABLE* to Virtual_tmp_table*

Advantages:
- Stricter data type control
- Removing the duplicate code (a loop with free_blobs)
  from destructors ~sp_rcontext() and ~Item_spvar_args(),
  using "delete m_(var_)table" in both instead.
- Using Virtual_tmp_table::delete makes the code call Field::delete,
  which calls TRASH() for the freed fields,
  which is good for valgrind test runs.

139441d0a0 A cleanup for MDEV-13919 sql_mode=ORACLE: Derive length of VARCHAR SP param...
The intent of this patch is to avoid copying arguments from
a pair "Item **args, uint arg_count" to List<Item> in
sp_head::execute_function(). If the number of a stored function parameters
is huge, such copying can affect performance.

Change:
1. Adding a new method Row_definition_list::adjust_formal_params_to_actual_params,
   which accepts a pair of "Item **, uint".
2. Modifying the code to use the new method:
   - the calls for sp_rcontext::retrieve_field_definitions() and
     Row_definition_list::adjust_formal_params_to_actual_params() have
     been moved from sp_rcontext::create() to sp_head::rcontext_create(),
     to handle different argument notations easier (Item** vs List<Item>).
   - sp_rcontext::create() now assumes that the passed Row_definition_list
     is already adjusted to the actual SP parameters, and all "TYPE OF"
     and "ROWTYPE OF" references are resolved.
3. Removing creation of List<Item> in sp_head::execute_procedure(),
   using the code with "Item**, uint" notation instead.
4. Improvement of the code for MDEV-10577:
   As a good side effect, this patch gets rid of double security context
   switch inside sp_head::execute_trigger():
   sp_rcontext is created when the context is already switched,
   so the second context switch inside sp_head::rcontext_create() was
   redundant. This is solved by adding a "bool switch_secutiry_ctx" parameter
   to rcontext_create(), so now execute_function() and execute_procedure()
   pass "true", while execute_trigger() passes "false".

596baeb1bf A cleanup for MDEV-10577 and MDEV-13919: moving a few sp_rcontext methods
Moving a few methods from sp_rcontext to different classes:

- Table_ident::resolve_table_rowtype_ref
- Qualified_column_ident::resolve_type_ref
- Row_definition_list::resolve_table_rowtype_ref
- Row_definition_list::adjust_formal_params_to_actual_params

It easier to reuse these methods this way in the future.

74543698a7 MDEV-13179 main.errors fails with wrong errno
The problem was that the introduction of max-thread-mem-used can cause
an allocation error very early, even before mysql_parse() is called.
As mysql_parse() calls thd->reset_for_next_command(), which called
clear_error(), the error number was lost.

Fixed by adding an option to have unique messages for each KILL
signal and change max-thread-mem-used to use this new feature.
This removes a lot of problems with the original approach, where
one could get errors signaled silenty almost any time.

ixed by moving clear_error() from reset_for_next_command() to
do_command(), before any memory allocation for the thread.

Related changes:
- reset_for_next_command() now have an optional parameter if we should
  call clear_error() or not. By default it's called, but not anymore from
  dispatch_command() which was the original problem.
- Added optional paramater to clear_error() to force calling of
  reset_diagnostics_area(). Before clear_error() only called
  reset_diagnostics_area() if there was no error, so we normally
  called reset_diagnostics_area() twice.
- This change removed several duplicated calls to clear_error()
  when starting a query.
- Reset max_mem_used on COM_QUIT, to protect against kill during
  quit.
- Use fatal_error() instead of setting is_fatal_error (cleanup)
- Set fatal_error if max_thead_mem_used is signaled.
  (Same logic we use for other places where we are out of resources)

5a759d31f7 Changing field::field_name and Item::name to LEX_CSTRING
Benefits of this patch:
- Removed a lot of calls to strlen(), especially for field_string
- Strings generated by parser are now const strings, less chance of
  accidently changing a string
- Removed a lot of calls with LEX_STRING as parameter (changed to pointer)
- More uniform code
- Item::name_length was not kept up to date. Now fixed
- Several bugs found and fixed (Access to null pointers,
  access of freed memory, wrong arguments to printf like functions)
- Removed a lot of casts from (const char*) to (char*)

Changes:
- This caused some ABI changes
  - lex_string_set now uses LEX_CSTRING
  - Some fucntions are now taking const char* instead of char*
- Create_field::change and after changed to LEX_CSTRING
- handler::connect_string, comment and engine_name() changed to LEX_CSTRING
- Checked printf() related calls to find bugs. Found and fixed several
  errors in old code.
- A lot of changes from LEX_STRING to LEX_CSTRING, especially related to
  parsing and events.
- Some changes from LEX_STRING and LEX_STRING & to LEX_CSTRING*
- Some changes for char* to const char*
- Added printf argument checking for my_snprintf()
- Introduced null_clex_str, star_clex_string, temp_lex_str to simplify
  code
- Added item_empty_name and item_used_name to be able to distingush between
  items that was given an empty name and items that was not given a name
  This is used in sql_yacc.yy to know when to give an item a name.
- select table_name."*' is not anymore same as table_name.*
- removed not used function Item::rename()
- Added comparision of item->name_length before some calls to
  my_strcasecmp() to speed up comparison
- Moved Item_sp_variable::make_field() from item.h to item.cc
- Some minimal code changes to avoid copying to const char *
- Fixed wrong error message in wsrep_mysql_parse()
- Fixed wrong code in find_field_in_natural_join() where real_item() was
  set when it shouldn't
- ER_ERROR_ON_RENAME was used with extra arguments.
- Removed some (wrong) ER_OUTOFMEMORY, as alloc_root will already
  give the error.

TODO:
- Check possible unsafe casts in plugin/auth_examples/qa_auth_interface.c
- Change code to not modify LEX_CSTRING for database name
  (as part of lower_case_table_names)

f429b5a834 MDEV-12011 sql_mode=ORACLE: cursor%ROWTYPE in variable declarations
Implementing cursor%ROWTYPE variables, according to the task description.

This patch includes a refactoring in how sp_instr_cpush and sp_instr_copen
work. This is needed to implement MDEV-10598 later easier, to allow variable
declarations go after cursor declarations (which is currently not allowed).

Before this patch, sp_instr_cpush worked as a Query_arena associated with
the cursor. sp_instr_copen::execute() switched to the sp_instr_cpush's
Query_arena when executing the cursor SELECT statement.

Now the Query_arena associated with the cursor is stored inside an instance
of a new class sp_lex_cursor (a LEX descendand) that contains the cursor SELECT
statement.

This simplifies the implementation, because:
- It's easier to follow the code when everything related to execution
  of the cursor SELECT statement is stored inside the same sp_lex_cursor
  object (rather than distributed between LEX and sp_instr_cpush).
- It's easier to link an sp_instr_cursor_copy_struct to
  sp_lex_cursor rather than to sp_instr_cpush.
- Also, it allows to perform sp_instr_cursor_copy_struct::exec_core()
  without having a pointer to sp_instr_cpush, using a pointer to sp_lex_cursor
  instead. This will be important for MDEV-10598, because sp_instr_cpush will
  happen *after* sp_instr_cursor_copy_struct.

After MDEV-10598 is done, this declaration:

DECLARE
  CURSOR cur IS SELECT * FROM t1;
  rec cur%ROWTYPE;
BEGIN
  OPEN cur;
  FETCH cur INTO rec;
  CLOSE cur;
END;

will generate about this code:

+-----+--------------------------+
| Pos | Instruction              |
+-----+--------------------------+
|   0 | cursor_copy_struct rec@0 | Points to sp_cursor_lex through m_lex_keeper
|   1 | set rec@0 NULL           |
|   2 | cpush cur@0              | Points to sp_cursor_lex through m_lex_keeper
|   3 | copen cur@0              | Points to sp_cursor_lex through m_cursor
|   4 | cfetch cur@0 rec@0       |
|   5 | cclose cur@0             |
|   6 | cpop 1                   |
+-----+--------------------------+

Notice, "cursor_copy_struct" and "set" will go before "cpush".
Instructions at positions 0, 2, 3 point to the same sp_cursor_lex instance.

4d3818d30d MDEV-11037 Diagnostics_area refactoring for user defined exceptions
Part 2:

Moving the part of Sql_condition that contain condition items
(such as m_class_origin, m_cursor_name, etc) into a separate
class Sql_condition_items. This allows to remove duplicate code in
different Sql_condition constructors.

Also, introducing new Sql_condition constructors and removing the method
Sql_condition::set(). All code sequences that called an Sql_condition
constructor followed by Sql_condition::set() are now replaced to
the new constructor calls. This gives light performance improvement,
as the relevant members are now initialized only one time.

749bbb3d7b MDEV-11357 Split Item_cache::get_cache() into virtual methods in Type_handler
This patch:
- Adds a new virtual method Type_handler::Item_get_cache
- Splits moves Item_cache::get_cache() into the new method, every
  "case XXX_RESULT" to the corresponding Type_handler_xxx::Item_get_cache.
- Adds Item::get_cache as a convenience wrapper, to make the caller code
  shorter.
- Changes the last argument of Arg_comparator::cache_converted_constant()
  from Item_result to "const Type_handler *".
- Removes subselect_engine::cmp_type, subselect_engine::res_type,
  subselect_engine::res_field_type and derives subselect_engine
  from Type_handler_hybrid_field_type instead.
- Makes Type_handler_varchar public, as it's now needed as the
  default data type handler for subselect_engine.

7332af49e4 - Renaming variables so that they don't shadow others (After this patch one can compile with -Wshadow and get much fewer warnings)
- Changed ER(ER_...) to ER_THD(thd, ER_...) when thd was known or if there was many calls to current_thd in the same function.
- Changed ER(ER_..) to ER_THD_OR_DEFAULT(current_thd, ER...) in some places where current_thd is not necessary defined.
- Removing calls to current_thd when we have access to thd

Part of this is optimization (not calling current_thd when not needed),
but part is bug fixing for error condition when current_thd is not defined
(For example on startup and end of mysqld)

Notable renames done as otherwise a lot of functions would have to be changed:
- In JOIN structure renamed:
   examined_rows -> join_examined_rows
   record_count -> join_record_count
- In Field, renamed new_field() to make_new_field()

Other things:
- Added DBUG_ASSERT(thd == tmp_thd) in Item_singlerow_subselect() just to be safe.
- Removed old 'tab' prefix in JOIN_TAB::save_explain_data() and use members directly
- Added 'thd' as argument to a few functions to avoid calling current_thd.

70823e1d91 MDEV-5120 Test suite test maria-no-logging fails
The reason for the failure was a bug in an include file on debian that causes 'struct stat'

This patch fixes so that we always include my_global.h or my_config.h before we include any other files.

Other things:

bfba296d40 Bug#14640599 MEMORY LEAK WHEN EXECUTING STORED ROUTINE EXCEPTION HANDLER
When a SP handler is activated, memory is allocated to hold the
MESSAGE_TEXT for the condition that caused the activation.

The problem was that this memory was allocated on the MEM_ROOT belonging
to the stored program. Since this MEM_ROOT is not freed until the
stored program ends, a stored program that causes lots of handler
activations can start using lots of memory. In 5.1 and earlier the
problem did not exist as no MESSAGE_TEXT was allocated if a condition
was raised with a handler present. However, this behavior lead to
a number of other issues such as Bug#23032.

This patch fixes the problem by allocating enough memory for the
necessary MESSAGE_TEXTs in the SP MEM_ROOT when the SP starts and
then re-using this memory each time a handler is activated.

This is the 5.5 version of the patch.
