Went down the list in shmkeys.h, added sane error msgs on perms
errors accessing rest of the shmsegs there.
Realized we probably do need 666 to the shmsegs.
Also deleted a little dead code that was copy-pasted everywhere.

MCOL-318 Use OS version of Snappy
...
This patch strips out our old version of Snappy and uses the OS version
instead. All our supported OSes have the latest version of Snappy in
their base repositories.

Remove generated Makefiles
Update Makefile.am to specify RPATH as a subdirectory of --prefix
Remove configure artifacts such as config.log, config.h, etc
Remove unneeded backup files (files ending in tilde ~)
