* Renamed configure.in to configure.ac
* Add m4 directory structure and update configure.ac (with AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIRS)
and Makefile.am (with ACLOCAL_AMFLAGS) to use it
* Enabled 'subdir-objects' option in configure.ac
* Changed the deprecated INCLUDES variable in several Makefile.am file to the
updated AM_CPPFLAGS variable.
* Removed the debug option from bootstrap.sh
* Updated .gitignore
